Markus shook his head and wandered over to the mass of electronics. Working quickly, he found several unused wires and a pulse emitter and recinigured the rifle's magazine. Regardless of scan range and type, it would now read as loaded- unless someone pulled the battery out. To fix thi, Mark put a standard battery interface of the top, so without opening the battery, it would appear normal.

Grinning, he tapped Derrick's shoulder and held up the battery and scanner. "Should read as loaded, even at point-blank."
He glanced sideways at Jack, and grinned. "Sorry 'bout the heart attack. Ease off the bacon for a few days, maybe?"

OOC: Okay, I think we can fast forward a bit. Let's move on to an hour before attack.

BIC:
Smoke tried to clear her mind as she walked to the assault room, as she usually did before a dangerous op. It was difficult trying to get thoughts of old battles out of her head, and the rifles clinking together on her back didn't help, nor did the false arm that she used to hold the straps in place. She shook her head and entered the room, which was now busy with crew readying equipment. After setting the rifles down near the assault room's armory, she walked to the area where combat armor was stored. She opened the transparent door and quickly donned her special-fit armor, which lacked left arm and leg guards.

<<NEW TRANSMISSION>
Just under an hour until planetfall. Drop troops report to the assault room, we need to get you into armor and ready the droppods.

Aleece had been in sleep mode in the assault room for hours now, but was taken out when a transmission to get ready was sent out. Quickly triple-checking weapons and weapons systems, she made sure the combat armor she'd donned after Smoke and her had a bit of a chat was secure. The droid stood and waited for everyone else who hadn't already to arrive.

Jake heard Smoke's message.
"Doc, please... must.. big thing.."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Cliff, but you are in no condition to fight."
"But.. I.."
"All right, you know what? We could do a quick cleanup of your systems, would take only a few minutes, but regular humans prove to be just a little to weak to survive without problems."
The doctors assistant spoke up.
"Um.. He isn't a regular human, he's a Zuguthian. Mostly the same as a human, only generally stronger."
"He.. what? Why didn't you tell me at once! We could've been done with this hours ago!"

Thomas stood up in his room and clanked to the assault room. He already was in full kit, powered exosuit and all. With all of his gear on, he weighed 1 ton. When he got to the assault room, he checked his gear and pack. He had 1 gauss SMG in hand and another magnetically attatched to his thigh. He also had 1 fragmentation grenade, 2 incendiary grenades, and 2 blocks of explosives. His internal generators were operating at 100%. Same with the atmosperic controls. He then flipped up his helmet faceplate and said, "I'm ready to go."

Mark wlked into the drop room, armor on, and began assembling his pack- mainly a series of devices that would work on computers and locks similar to how an agonizer worked on a living being.

Jack walked into the assault room mic near to his face like he had just got done with a conversation. After pressing a button the mic retracted.
"Hello." He nodded to his teammates. He checked his gear again. The Hic, E gun, 5 frag grenades, 4 breaching charges, Syndicate dagger, a pair of hand cuffs, and message player.
Jack: AI are you ready?
AI: No but I don't have a choice do I?
Jack: Nope.

He put on his helmet, turned on his magnetic boots, and did his pre battle ritual, kissing each side of his dagger and guns.
"For my brother."

Derrick was also heading towards the assault room, but for different reasons. He was hauling the rather-heavy Fusion Coil Splicer down to the assault bay. Prototyping had been finished a few hours ago, but he needed a field test to be sure of it's reliability. He entered the room and quickly spotted Jack, who would be perfect. He was a heavy weapons guy, after all. He hauled the prototype over to him and set it down. "Hello Jack," he said, panting.

"Something you wanted professor?" Jack asked.

"Just call me Derrick, and yes." He motioned to the Fusion Coil Splicer. "This is a heavy-prototype weapon. You know the NeoRoman's old Fusion Coil Splicers they mounted on most ships? Very destructive. Well, I found a way to make it handheld." He picked it up and handed it to Jack. Derrick could see the gleam in his eye.

"And you need a field test."

"Exactly. It will make quick work of anything, really. Given your combat training, I figured you would be best for the job." He activated a few settings and the weapon activated. "The core is quantum-entangled to the one in my lab. Any excess heat will go there, where I can dissipate it."

"Why does it need a field test?"

"I need to make sure it doesn't explode, for one. I need to test it's stress tolerance under battle-field conditions. How well it functions." Derrick deactivated the gun after he saw that checks were complete. "It has a small shield generator, so don't worry about minor damage to it. What do you say?"

Jake entered the assault room.
He checked his gear bag to make sure everything was there: 2 grenade launchers, one rocket launcher, a bunch of explosives, rockets and grenades, 5 bottles of some unknown alcoholic beverage, and a helmet and a blast-proof vest with a built-in small shield generator.
He put on the helmet and the vest and pulled down the helmet display.

"I'll do it."
"Alright then."
Jack swung the prototype over his pack.
"Derrick unless your coming with us I suggest you move I think we're launching soon."

Shane walked into the assault room with his LMG, and rocket launcher on his back, MG-XC-124 Pistol, and 2 frag grenades on his belt, 2 blocks of C4 and two tank mines in a sack on his left hip. He was already in the flack armor he had brought with him.
