EDIT: Current FutureDerps on STO

Rear Admiral Lower Half Ivan Kintobor, U.S.S. Finitevus NCC-93660. (Ivan)

Actually, I got a promotion today.
I´m now
Rear Admiral (lower half) Ivan Kintobor of the U.S.S. Finitevus (NCC-93660)
My shortname is still Rudolph, though (not RL name) as I need one of those name-changer thingies (which I´m currently saving for) to do that.
My complete IGN is Rudolph@officer493
Try not to recruit me into a fleet tough, i already have a decent one.

I've played some horrible movie / TV show license games. I've thought about playing this one but is it any good?

Star Trek Online is your standard MMO but with spaceships, the ground combat is kinda repeditive and simplistic and space combat is alright. But I'm not very far so don't take my word for it, that's my general view. I just started a new Starfleet character after deleting my old one after not plying for months, so not ranking high anytime soon.

It's like any MMO_ you play for the story, 'cause the gameplay isn't groundbreaking and amazing. But it's good.

Dunno, the stories in most MMOs are downright bad all together with the gameplay, the ability to play with others is what attracts people. See the gameplay might be standard but after you've seen the "press e here" quest design for like a 1000 times with no back story at all it just becomes boring, usually the combat is what saves MMO from "share the misery" experience. Knowing you all too well this is the point when you come with the "STFU"...

EDIT: I'm tlaking about MMOs in general, never played STO

So far,e very mission (including daily available) have a decent backstory (all ST-canon correct) and are generally fun to play.

Can you really call it cannon when it's set well after the TV serieseses? There is no reference in any Star Trek wiki to anything in STO as far as I know.

The backstory is canonically correct when it relates to actual ST, if that makes you happy >_>
