Thomas was at the shooting range. It had been a while simce he had been in combat so he was just brushing up. He fired through a magazine, then took a swig from the bottle of water that was on the table next to him. He surveyed his target. 7 headshots, and one in the shoulder. The rangemaster whistled. "I don't want to mess with you." Thomas chuckled, said thank you, then left.

Smoke descended a stairwell until she reached the port level, where she could see Reverie and a few other ships docked out of a large window. She watched as one of the other ships pulled in its tethers and drifted out of the port, then continued onward to her ship's umbilical airlock. The last of the new equipment and supplies were being loaded on. She slipped in between two large crates and walked up the gangplank, into the lower deck of Corsair's Reverie. The lift took her to the deck where the professor's lab was. Her timepiece displayed a half hour till away, she decided to send a quick message to the crew.

Thirty minutes until we descend into the ink, finish your preparations ASAP and report to the ship. The Professor's got some fresh contract to discuss with all of you after we get moving, sounds like a lot of you will have something pretty big for your first battle. Consider yourselves the luckiest people in the deepest shit you'll ever find.

Jake's eyes opened wide by the message.
"Something... Something big?"
A smile started showing on his face.

Thomas had just reached the airlock when Smoke's message came through. After he boarded the Reverie, he went to his room and decided to get some sleep. If the job was as big as Johanna said, he would be needing it.

name: Shane

gender: male

species: human (not enhanced in any way)

role: anti armor (carries rocket launchers, LMGs, and tank mines, making him slow to reload and fire, but extremely effective. he prefers dumbfire launchers; no anti air here.)

perks: has a fighting spirit. he led protests against his own government as soon as he was a legal adult. friendly. enjoys talking to people.. just not when hes tired. shane cherishes his sleep.

weaknesses: conspiracy theorist. suspicious of everyone. after the crap his government tried to pull on its own citizens, he could never trust anyone in power ever again. if an order is given that he doesnt like, he will be the first to say so and probably wont follow it. extremely stubborn. shane may seem tough but he isnt. he never works out and cant handle long hikes. so how does he make it in battle carrying all his heavy equipment? barely. he has an all or nothing atitude. if he doesnt do something BIG for the team, he doesnt want to do anything at all. thats why he refuses to step into batle with out his big guns.

quick backstory: shane lived on a small planet in a tiny corner of the galaxy that nobody really ever hears about. the planet he lived on developed a corrupt government over the years which resulted in the planned imprisonment of half the population in labor camps. as soon as shane was old enough to move out of his parents home, he was leading armed revolts against his government. guns werent his thing though. he started building pressure activated explosives, and remote activated c4 in his garage. he sabotaged vehicles and turned roads into mine fields for the rebels. three years later the governent had been overthrown and plans were being made for a new one. shane wasnt around for that though. he left immediately after the rebellion to become a mercenary somewhere in the more populated parts of the galaxy.

Name: FSCC-043602-B5 "Aleece"

Species: Rogue Novus Combat Droid

Gender: Feminine AI

Role, specialties: Assault drone excelling in midrange to closerange attack, devastating closerange weaponry hardware.

Personality: Antisocial homicidal psychopath with a preference for nonlethal dismemberment.

Perks: All parts replaceable, modular combat armor (includes augmentation of slots for exotic armors), hardwired nightvision and thermal vision.

Flaws: Mild-to-extreme antisocial behavior (will abandon non-mission-critical team members), killing methodology can be very high-profile, early-mid stage AI rampancy.

Backstory (include any combat experience and training): The Novus field manual regarding the FSCC-class assault droid states: The FSCC-class assault droid is a hyper-lethal killing machine designed by our friends at the Hexalan Co. Special Research Devision. The FSCC-class was designed as a replacement for the standard commando, as a droid would not require nourishment, sleep, or would provide any hesitation to kill. 6 batches of 100,000 were made, enough for all 50 of our battalions plus some for security detail of high-priority targets[, in fact, 7 batches were made, the 7th were for the Empress' guard]. The FSCC-class is provided with all the usual commando equipment, an equivalent of the MK7 Variable Armor Skin, as well as built-in thermal and nightvision. It is advised to not approach an FSCC-class without a dress uniform or combat skin with an active FSCC IFF to avoid friendly fire on the FSCC's part.

The ship shuddered as it docked with the station. A freighter, it was carrying a variety of cargo. Among it was some food rations and fuel, as well as a cryostasis container. Inside was a late addition to the crew of the Corsair's Reverie. The workers quickly moved to get as much cargo aboard as fast as possible as they had another delivery to make in just 10 standard minutes. Among the last to be transferred was the stasis pod which a worker hastily put it into the wakeup cycle. The ship undocked quickly and sped off to another destination. The pod hissed open and the droid walked out, and over to the nearest station worker. She asked him where the Corsair's Reverie was docked and he pointed down the hall. She then slowly jogged to the frigate's berth.

"JACK GET UP!"
"What AI!"
"A Freighter has docked. A recruit has joined the crew."
"You woke me up for that?"
"Yes you asked me to and I quote 'Wake me if Anything happens.'"
"Did I? Ah well might as well get up meet this new guy."
"Feminine AI actually Jack."
"Its a Robot?"
"Drone."
"Ugh." He said as he put on his Combat Outfit.

Before Johanna put her datapad up, she checked over the list of recruits again. One caught her eye, one that she hadn't noticed in her previous skimmings, apparently someone decided to throw an AI into her mix of soldiers. She read its bio.

Designation/Serial: FSCC-043602-B5
Tag: Aleece
Model: FSCC Battle, Modular
I-Core Type: Dynamic, Non-Degenerative

Smoke shook her head when she read the kind of AI, notorious for overloading thought matrices with age.

AI Neuronet Stem: Unknown
Age: 6.75 years

She shook her head again and put her datapad away. This AI was far past its prime, most likely nearing the end of its life, and possibly very dangerous. She knocked on the Professor's laboratory door.

the shuttle docked with the station after hours of sitting still. aperently the pilot had a bad reputation with the station and it took him forever to get permission to dock. according to the holo screen floating in front of him, there were three ships currently hiring mercs. the one in the middle, the Reverie, cast off in only a few minutes and it said it stil had open spaces. perfect. he stepped off the shuttle and walked down a long corridor into the station. he thought of the gate's similarities with the one at the airport in his home town. once he took his first step into the station itself, he realized how massive the station was. thousands of people were packed into the corridor corridor he now found himself in. the left side was lined with shops. the right side was a window that ran the entire length of the corridor which eventually curved out of sight in both directions. the window curved upward to cover the ceiling as well. shane looked up through the ceiling and saw buildings stretching miles upward.

shane took a seat at a bench with his back to this window. he plopped his bags down next to him. he opened a holomap of the station and searched for the reverie.

"sh**". he couldnt have been in a worse place. the station was circular and he was on the opposite side of the station that the reverie was docked at.

bla bla bla. story story story. signs up as new recruit aboard reverie. begins walking through the halls of the reverie toward the room he is going to be staying in.

after dropping off his things, shane walked toward the briefing room. he was surprised to see only one other in the room with him. he sat in one of the seats closest to the door leaned back and shut his eyes. he would meet everyone after the meeting and then he would take a nice long nap.

Markus, noting the call to the briefing room on a nearby console, wandered over and found a seat, pulling out his datapad.
