Markus grinned, good humour returning. "Analyze it all you want- it's just a modified stunner. I put a refractive lens in and gave it a rounded casing with some weights to keep it upright."

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Jack looked over to see Jake looking at the signs and walked over smiling.
"Weapons first friend there's time for Vodka later in fact meet me in the bar in one hour I'll buy you a drink. Goodbye for now."
Jack started walking toward the bar.

OOC: Idea! For some contracts, forum members will message via PM to any contractor (Me, catsonmeth, maybe proto), of what they want done, the pay, and the currency being payed. Then, given these, we will introduce the contract and do it at some point, of course working for an anonymous 'Contact'.
BIC: Derrick returned to his lab, or his workshop, depending on who you asked. After making sure the door was shut and surveillance offline, he inputted a few commands into a terminal. The central pillar in the center unfolded into a large, complicated sensor matrix. It was stolen from the NeoRomans before he was arrested. A band of pirates had infiltrated a high-level orbital research facility and made off with several billion worth of data, equipment, and technology. Derrick, of course, bought everything from a black market channel once he was out of NeoRoman custody. It would be impossible to trace the purchase to him, and as far as anyone was concerned, he owned them.
But of course, precautions. He opened a small tank receptacle and pulled out three Phazon tanks. He then scanned them, making sure they were stable, before inserting them into his highly-experimental, handheld Fusion Coil Splicer. It certainly wouldn't rival those aboard a NeoRoman dreadnought, but it still had quite a kick in it. He placed the weapon in a testing tube to test on low-power settings. The data readout was optimal. Little recoil, excellent power. He smiled and removed the weapon. He made a 3D scan of it and kept it in his files, as a backup, and then removed the tanks. After placing the tanks back in the receptacle and returning the weapon to it's holding case, he pressed a small switch. Several prongs unfolded from the floor and met in the center of the scanner. A magnetic ring detached and began spinning around the center as a fusion reaction was started between the prongs. He began reading data readouts.

Jack saw Smoke on his way to the bar.
"Hey Smoke! Had one too many?"
Smoke was his superior but a good one at that he trusts her and she trusts him.
"No I just have to check these supply lists."
"Alright see you on ship then." As Jack walked into the bar."Hey Nick Vodka please."
"Sure."
"Any news about the..."He lowered his voice "The Syndicate?"
"Yes. Orion Confederation are blocking the borders, many nations fleets are helping them and O.S is trying to get help from NeoRome and the sorts."
"Thanks Nick keep me in touch about that." As he passed over a two-way holo." Now can I have some peace?"
"Yea."

Still a bit confused, Zurar went to his quarter and found, that it was a cube with about 27 cubic meters space. A window, a bed, a small desk. Good for a Humanoid, but a little bit inappropriate for him, so he took the bed and replaced it with a mounting for him, so that he could easily go into standby. on the desk he placed a small algae farm, for his emergency
fuel, if he would run out of energy with no electrical source around. He opened his bag, luckily nothing broke, either his sniper, or his small pet drone, the only thing, that the scientists gave to him. He activated the drone and gave it the command to follow him. Zurar took the sniper, the drone and a holo book and went to the weapon customization.
Weapon customization console:
Model: Javelin Mk III

Found Modifications:
Stabilizer: Crovus Type 2
Scope: IR Gavon Type 1
Barrel: Dragon Type 3
Ammo: Concentrated Dark Nebula Energy Bullets
No other modifications found!
<Attaching Accelerator Field Barrel>
Model: Arc Mk II

Found Modifications:
Suppressor: Viper Type 2
Ammo: Stardust Energy and Lighting Bullets
No other modifications found!
<Leaving weapon customization>
After that Zurar went to the bar, to read a little bit in his book "The Philosophy of a machine", in the bar he met some of the other Crew members.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Johanna walked into the medical station and to the service counter. She put her hand to her left eye and removed the iris.
"Something wrong with your eye, mam?" Asked the attendant.
"Need a new one." she placed the circular red object on the counter and pressed down on it with her thumb until it shattered. "This one's broken."
The attendant blinked at her and removed the iris from the counter with a pair of forceps. "I'll need the model number" She said as she disappeared into the back room.
"X-OP-100982. Get me something with at least 8 times zoom and UE-compatibility." Smoke called into the doorway behind the counter.
<<MESSAGE TO: Professor Derrick>
Castoff's scheduled three hours from now. If there hasn't been any word from command on the new contracts, postpone it for a little while. I have a little bit more business to take care of, and I think the recruits might need some more time to... get acquainted with the base.
<END>>
The attendant returned to the counter and laid a crimson circle on the surface. "Just what you're looking for. New model, should work fine enough. 10x zoom, weapons and electronics combatability, ultra- and sub- visible spectrum options. Also has a depth mapping feature, reads terrain up to three kilometers. Retina software and nervous wetware will be installed upon fitting."
Smoke picked the iris up and dropped it into the cavity in the artificial eye. "Thanks." She said, and tapped her credit chip against the counter.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Derrick shifted his attention to the communicator console when Johanna's message came in. After making sure the plasma containment matrix was secure, he read it. Interesting. He would have thought they would be acquainted with the ship by now, but...
He began typing a message back when an urgent alert beeped from another console. It began reading out data commands as it created a secure-access transmission link. Derrick immediately shifted to this console and began manually inputting commands to create a confidential link.
>// 3-Way Hyperspacial Proxy Transmission Engaged
It was from command. It began outputting a data spreadsheet and readout, complete with times, several graphs, security schedules. After analyzing it, he knew the implications. He turned back to the message council and wrote a new message.
<<MESSAGE TO- Johanna Smoke>
Something just came in from command, just after you messaged me. The timing for this one is critical, so we have a limited window. I suggest holding a ship-wide meeting, so we can acquaint the recruits with us, and explain how things work. We can also introduce this latest development. How about in 3 hours, when we cast off?

Re: Corsair's Reverie
After reading his book, Zurar went back to his quarter, to put his stuff there. After he finished that, he went to explore the ship, he went to the hangars, the cargo bay, the engineering deck, the bridge and finally to the research labs. As he came across one of the labs, he saw that Professor Derrick was working there. Zurar remembered, what he had read in his book and so he knocked at the door. A few seconds later, the voice of Derrick said: "Come in."
Zurar: "Professor Derrick? I'm sorry, that I reacted so rash, there was a chance of 46.34%, that you get hurt."
Derrick: "It's ok, I knew the risks."
Zurar: "By the way, you've got an impressive lab here."
Derrick: "Yeah, you can do a lot of things here."
Zurar: "It would be an honor, if I could work here as an assistant. Maybe if you want to test some inventions, as I'm immune to fire, radiation and diseases. Also I can easily be rebuild if I get damaged by an explosion. So if you need help or an assistant, just call me. Goodbye."
Derrick: " Thanks, goodbye."
Zurar left with the feeling, that he finally did something good to get accepted by the crew.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Following the stranger's advice, Jake went towards the Weapon Modification Area.
He fell in love immediately.
"Holy shit! These guys have everything! Explosives compressors, pressure boosters.. Is that a Temporary Miniature Wormhole Generator I see there?"
After putting all kinds of dangerous and/or unstable modifications on his weapons and explosives, he went to the bar.
"You got anything Zuguthian?" he asked the bartender.
"Sure, we have all kinds of beers and liquors from there, anything special in mind?"
"Well, I doubt I'll get any mission or anything immediately, so I'll have a shot of Special Viperhawk Vodka and a bottle of Crimson Valley beer."
"All right, but I warn you, take it slow on that vodka. It's 95% alcohol and the rest is pure, barely unlethalized poison."
Jake looked disappointed.
"They put the alcohol down to 95? I'll have to remember to call them and complain.. Well, there's more than enough time for that later."

//> Message To Derrick
Do we have a mission yet? I've had 15 no wait 16 bottles of Vodka and I still haven't passed out.
Call me back if we have a mission if not I'll keep drinking.
//> Message End
Jack looked over to the bar where Jake was sitting.
"Hey Rookie you made it! Come over sit down."

Markus tapped away at the console in his room, floating upside-down. Frowning at something onscreen, he shut down the panel and drifted tot he nearest mantenance hatch. Opening it, he entered the ship's maintenance crawlways and began working his way towards the engineering deck.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Jake turned around.
"Oh, hey! Thanks for the advice, I love the weapons mod area."
"You're welcome."
"You know, the weapon mods I'm used to are basically some wires and scrap metal. But this.. check this out!"
He took up a grenade launcher with a glowing ring on the tip, attached to a box under the barrel, and pointed it at Jack.
"Wait, what are you.."
Then he pulled the trigger.
But instead of turning Jack into a red and pink mist, a floating rock outside blew up.
"Wormhole generator! Takes some time to charge, but really useful!"
"In what situation?"
"Dunno. But hey, didn't you offer to buy me a drink?"

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Derrick registered a hyper-spacial warp anomaly as he was monitoring the fusion-crystallization process. After checking several sources, he found it- New recruit abusing weapon mods. He sighed. He activated a small teleportation matrix and beamed the wormhole generator to him.
In the bar, Jake stepped back and looked in surprise as the wormhole-generator melted into nothing. A few seconds later, an intercom came on.
"Please do NOT abuse weapon mods. Especially the wormhole generator. It's very unstable and the destination is very random. You're lucky it didn't teleport into the reactor core, or worse, the administrator's office."

Jake collapsed on the floor.
"Sa.. Samantha! She was so young..."
"You gave your grenade launcher a name?"

"Here then the finest Russian Vodka this station as to offer." As he passed over a full unopened bottle.
"Thanks."
"No problem."
"Castoff I think is in 3 hours."
"Really I better hit the hay." as he yawned. "Cya later Rookie, oh I never did catch your name."
"Jake."
"Thanks its Jack by the way." As he started the walk back to his room.
