No, I see it more like this. An owl with full medieval knight armor on charges an all but unarmored tien with a modern pistol. Through exploiting cracks in his opponent's defense, the tien emerges victorious. That's how our penetration works, by exploiting a molecular gap here, here, and soon enough a tidal wave of plasma is headed toward the projecting ship.

The shield has no cracks. It is pure energy connected in such a way that objects only damage it but are stopped. The same goes for energy attacking it.


I'd say we let Fenway decide, since he is GM.

In the RPverse, he is. But outside of that he is the GM, and has to be impartial. He is also the only GM. As for the plot line, I have as much knowledge as you do.

I'm not omniscient, but I'm fairly certain that Fenway's been messaging members he considers key to the roleplay in order to manipulate the RP, whereas the rest of us are aloof. I hardly doubt you're one of these people, and as such he'll likely judge in your favor so as to continue his conspiracy without any undue hindrance.

Revelation: Fenway dosn´t manipulate anyone to bring forth the main story. In fact, he doesn´t even know the main story. It also isn´t his conspiracy. I know that because I am a major participant in the story. I, however, have more influence on the story than Fenway does. Also, it isn´t Fenway's Conspiracy. Your conspiracy is in another castle. You will never find out that [redacted] is a [redacted] who works for [redacted]. the main story justifies the current peace diplomatics. Don´t ask Fenwy about the story, again, he doesn´t even know it as GM.

Alright. I will settle this once and for all.

Taln's weapon works... but unexpectedly. It doesn't go through the shield per se, but it doesn't destroy it either. Instead, the energy is routed, through the molecular paths of the shields, back into the emitter. The excess energy buildup there causes key components of the shield to overload and fail, which severely weakens it. The energy can also spread to other systems, and cause failures there. It's an energy-feedback weapon.

So correction: The Taln ships bombard the massive shield with the new weapon. It seems to be holding, until suddenly one of the shield cruisers shuts off. Power arcs around the ship as most systems overload, crippling the ship. Other shield ships follow, and the shield begins to visibly flicker and fail.

Also, Ivan is right, I don't manipulate, and I don't know the main story. I do collaborate with some members, but not often.

And when did the UGC and SDI get a cease-fire? NeoRome never agreed to one. I never recall a peace treaty with the UGC signed. The EE, yes, but not the UGC.

Fenway, on the deck of the recently-upgraded Aurora, received a communication from Strigiforme. Taln attack. Fenway sighed, and then opened up a communication to several stations. "Aim the Dimensional Crystal Lense and the Mass Gravity Generator at the Taln homeworld and prepare to fire on my command," he said. He then switched to another channel. "All available ships, follow the Aurora into Strigiforme space. This'll be the first real field test of our Phazon systems." With a jolt, the Aurora left the orbit of NeoRome and jumped, headed to the Strigiforme system, with a large fleet following him.

Arxin spared a glance from the ground pound that the battle was becoming to the sensor array and confirmed the report. Quite a few NeoRome ships. He looked back at the devastation being wreaked on the Striigiforme's main resupply base, and sighed. They'd tried, but he held no delusions that the force he had could withstand the power of the SDI's reinforcements when they arrived.

"All ships, break off the attack. I repeat, break off the attack. Retreat to your designated protection regions and prepare for defensive maneuvers."

In groups of three or more, sometimes in large clusters, the Taln ships turned about and returned to Protectorate space. The lumbering SABER let lose a volley of timed-detonation proton warheads where the NeoRome fleet was estimated to depart, and soon it, too, was speeding away from the gravity well. Arxin surveyed the destruction he had caused, and couldn't help but imagine how much would be dealt in turn to his nation for this action. All for a bunch of Equines whose government didn't even want them enough to send anything to help. The Marshall grimaced, an oddly calming sound given it was coming from two ends of a beak grinding together. He looked around the cabin. It offered no moral advice, the cold, empty metal interior staring accusingly at him, at he who may just have well doomed his people to damnation.

There was solace in death, they said. Arxin tapped a discreetly located button on the side dashboard that activated the experimental cloaking device he'd installed on the craft, and sped towards the currently inert proton warheads and backed off to a safe distance. The NeoRome ships warped in none too shortly after, and the missiles detonated, scorching shields and causing extensive structural damage to the vessels they supposedly protected and sending key systems on the fritz. Arxin sped towards the largest ship in the group, the Aurora, if memory served him, and aimed his ship at the bridge. Moments before his minute craft collided into the behemoth, he palmed a picture stuck to the window, and, as if his words could reach the figures printed on it hundreds of light years away, whispered,

"Forgive me."

OOC: Fenway, so Arxin basically kamikazed the bridge of the Aurora. You decide how that bodes for you, whose last location was on the bridge, eh?

The First fleet of the NSCD warped in, to directly face the ship their makers had sent for reasons unknown, data on ARK-1 had shown the ship to be weaker at the front.

Two Tormentor dreadnoughts lined up their shots, even they were dwarfed by the leviathan ship, each one slotting a condensed piece of neutron matter into the mammoth cannons.

FIRE


Four huge chunks of rapidly decaying Neutron matter were hurled straight at the bow of the Lucifer, a blue glow surrounded the ink black projectiles as they decayed into a very dangerous chunk of concentrated proton matter, enough to disrupt the molecular structure of most things, coupled with the overwhelming mass of the shot, they should make short work of the Lucifer.

The first hit, dissipating in a huge proton storm, it appeared to have little. Impact on the ship.

By this point the Lucifer had returned fire, and had destroyed one of the Tormentors, and one Extinctor, heavily damaging the Vivisector and damaging several bruisers.

The second shot hit, with a greater impact than the first, the Lucifers shields dissipated just long enough for the next two shots to fit in, and make contact.

The front of the Lucifer erupted, consumed by the proton storm created by the Planetbusters, neutralising all weapons on the front of the ship, but the ship kept coming, the remaining ships used the opportunity to fire everything, the remaining Extinctor classes layer down a huge volley of plasma fire and rockets, with Bruiser classes letting lose with Nuclear rail guns.

The front Km of the ship was now rendered completely useless, but its shields soon reformed, and it still kept coming.

The Lucifer began to swing round, in order to expose the batteries on its sides, the commanding officer of the fleet saw this, and there was not enough time to re load the planet busters, the only option was retreat.

The Lucifer was a big ship, turning round would take a while, maybe just long enough to jump out.

The ships began charging warp, but a failure on one of the Extincor cruisers causes the drive to shut down, it was stranded.

Knowing death was inevitable, the captain turned the ship to face the Lucifer 4, popping off several round with the ships main gun, at this point, all units on board knew they were dead, they called for the captain to fire the biggest shot they had, the ship itself.

The rest of the Fleet warped out, but Extinctor AFB-015 stayed, sticking engines on full, preparing to ram the Lucifer full speed.

Back on ARK-1, Military command was preparing to award the first posthumous medals for bravery in the history of the NSCD.

A long line of ponies formed in front of the military application desk. Most of them refuges from the invasion of Strigiform forces, they wanted revenge.

Naval Commander: Looks like were going to have make accommodations for earth ponies.
Air Force Commander: Nothing a little bionics couldn't help right?
Naval Commander: It's not that simple, Unicorns can manipulate things with their physic abilities, pegasi can use their wings, but we would have to put implants in them for the bionics.
Air Force Commander: The EE might be able to help with that, or maybe even the Taln?
Naval Commander: They wouldn't help us.
Air Force Commander: It's worth a try.
Naval Commander: Lets start with the EE.

Message to the EE
Dear friends, we would like to know if there is a way to attach mechanical parts to organic beings without permanently altering them. Many Earth ponies are applying for the military and it would cost way to much to alter the ships and controls just for them.
