OOC: I see that Shooting Star is taken directly from the Freespace-2 Kayser Heavy Cannon. So... many... references... And for eezo, ALL of it's effects can be replicated easily with other technology, it's just a unique substance, just like Phazon.

Suspended inside a gravity-controlled chamber, was a very experimental prototype. From EE's data, they had tried to mimic the projectile's data as best they could. They had to use their own reactors. The scientists had asked for a captured Chaos Emerald, but Research Command had declined, saying there are none. Whether this was true remained to be seen. Below the prototype was a N-scale fusion reactor, with the core exposed.

"Preparing to fire," Squawked the intercom. The observation room darkened slightly. "3, 2, 1, now." An intense flash sighted from the prototype. Instruments began outputting mountains of data,while the shot interacted with the reactor. It stopped, and the room lit up again.

"Any results?" Asked the head researcher.

"We managed to mimic precisely the projectile." A pause. "N-Scale output jumped 500%, then decreased." Another pause. "We have successfully reproduced a Phazon Breeder."

"That was a warning shot. Please vacate the gravity well. We do not wish to start an incedent, but you are trespassing on our territory. You would get a better response if you went to Cuuyth and talked to someone with the authority to do what you are asking."

The 'hot' war is over, but there is still a very cold war. Lots of tension.

Now, I've recently picked up a tight beam transmission on a trajectory that suggests Cuuyth is the recipient, so you are either summoning reinforcements or, perhaps, letting a superior listen in on this. Either way," Arxin glanced at his tactical screen and saw a multitude of friendly blips appear behind him, including the massive signature of the SABER mobile supercannon, "we will solve this rather soon."

"Comms, set action stations in the fleet and defenses. Call the Aigaiion, have them get ready to fight another supership. Get a transmission to Cuuyth to get them ready to fire the Barrage Cannon at Cayla."

The Orbital Commander pulled back the transmission to the Tien.

"We are prepared to fire on your home world should you continue this course of action. You have no willing allies, and we will destroy you should you attack now. This is your final warning."

In recent news thousands of equines are pouring into the Cavnin nation. It is likely they are refuges from the invasion on the EE planets. The government is making accommodations for these new inhabitants by providing small scale housing at an affordable price.

"The weapon you see behind me is armed with a long range planetbuster capable of piercing any shield, among other things, and it is currently pointed at Cuuyth. Should you attack any Protectorate world or fleet asset we will pursue a policy of mutually assured destruction." Arxin leaned back, and tapped out a message to Cayla to raise the prototype Cuneiform barriers.

The Aigaiion's energy projector began to glow, causing power spikes in both empire's superweapons. The Aigaiion was designed to flash fire its weapons, and was able to get its destructive beam off moments before the Taln weapon fired. The fleets now clashed for pointless reasons the Taln originally said they wouldn't support. On the surface, the ponies were herded into large chambers, ready if the Taln tried to land troops to free them.

The war has brought great destruction to the Eggman Empire, and the casualties are too many for a biological being to fully understand the bandwith of peril.
However, it has also shown us our weaknesses. Weaknesses that will, now that they're discovered, invite potential enemies to attack us.
I have decided that additional funding shall go into fixing those weaknesses in order to prevent a repeat of events.
I would appreciate if the population would support these measures in order tomaintain peace, stability and security of the Eggman Empire.

OOC: Nope, nope, nope. We're on the fringe of the gravity well, remember? And I sincerely doubt you could get past SABER's shields. But whatever.

The strange enemy beam lanced across space to impact the surface of the SABER construct, but missed the firing mechanism completely. A large beam erupted from the superweapon's gaping maw into the Aigaiion, overwhelming its shields and all but crippling it. Without it in play, the odds of the battle shifted rather dramatically.

EE and SDI are not at war. The UGC and SDI have never come to a resolution, and are, therefore, still at war.

The Aurora has been upgraded with a Phazon Plasma Shield system, Phazon Coil Splicers, and several Phazon-Enhanced Cloaking Mechanisms

Phazon Plasma Shield

The Phazon's combination with the Plasma System creates multiple, shifting sections of an EM-Magnetic Force Barrier, which covers about 95% of the surface area of the Aurora's shield. These sections are high-energy, and able to displace very large amounts of energy, whether EM, Kinetic, or Plasma, before failing. This is adding onto the normal capacity of the High-grade plasma shields

Phazon Coil Splicers

The Beam now resonates in three separate oscillations. Each oscillation frequency can be tuned through the use of harmonic cannons to resonate with a specified matter, based on it's density or composition. It can also be tuned to resonate with shield systems, based on the shield's frequency.

Phazon Enhanced Cloaking

Rather than trying to hide from sensors, this is showing itself. To an extravagant amount. The shield creates a Phazon-pulse wave, which sensors cannot make any sense of at all. Due to this data, it displays the region of cloaking as blank, nothing there. Visual contact works the same way. It can be tuned to hide instead of show, which enhances the hiding of energy emissions.

Once retrofits are complete, the Aurora will lead a battle group into enemy territory.

Whoa whoa whoa, UGC is in a ceasefire with SDI. This is Taln vs SDI right now.

"Commander, Aigaiion missed everything important!"

"Have them launch fighters and retreat to the other side of the planet. Send a distress to NeoRome, they should be able to even the odds."

The Aigaiion scuttered away, throwing out fighters as it left. Meanwhile, the fleets clashed. Being one of the Strigiforme's main shipyards, there were plenty of defenses and ships, along with those brought in when it was threatened.

"Comms, get the shield cruisers organized. Have them buy us some time."

The Strigiforme shield cruisers, along with their escorts, moved forwards under the cover of a very thick shield. They then encompassed the Taln forces in a sphere of energy, leaving the Taln unable to attack or be attacked.


Also Tiel, the Aigaiion's energy projector beam is designed to kill big things far away, so it has the range and it can blast a whole a few kilometers wide. Shields would diminish the effect, but damage would be considerable.

The Taln fleet's new weapons pierce the shields, and through focus fire, all but decimate the meager cruiser force. The sheer power of the Chimera cannons make mincemeat out of any unwary Striigiforme vessel. With the number of Pathos frigates along with the fleet offering their turrets to augment that of the capital ships, space is ablaze with lethal blue plasma beams.

Arxin frowned at the tactical display. The planet was too well defended to even risk sending a transport convoy, and thus the entire point was moot. But he could still do some damage.

"All ships, concentrate on the shipyards and destroy any intercepting vessels, and then withdraw at your discretion."
