With the Taln fleet gone from orbit, the Orbital Command officer sent an urgent message to Strigiforme Command

-Hostile forces inbound to Cvy II. Recommend redirect forces. Taln fleet, suspected rogue. Sending recording.

"Commander, wire from border world. Priority Zero."

"Instruct the Barrage Cannon to fire on Mobiu-"

"Commander, it's a rogue Taln fleet. From what we know, equine commander. Headed straight for Cvy II."

"Ah. Get a wire to the Taln Embassy and Taln Command. Tell them there'll be repercussions if they can't reign him in."

Ulaz went to go get help from the EE, he's not staging a one man assault on Cvy II.

Fenway entered his quarters and sealed the room. He had urgent matters to attend to. He needed to signal the research team, whose location he didn't know. But he would find it soon enough. He opened a heavily encrypted communication broadcast and began typing, without thinking.

The Strigiforme had deployed some new defenses, mines scattered through the system and small defense platforms deployed by capital ships. In addition, the equine internment camps had been surrounded with surface to orbit turrets, along with a defensive shield. Should the defenses fail, the Strigiforme were prepared to finish the job. Several fleets had jumped in, including the Aigaiion, which had just finished repairs.

OOC: A government and it's military exist to protect its people, not willingly sacrifice them for the sake of peace. Consigning millions of equines to slow torturous deaths makes the EE a twisted and disgusting nation. I wouldn't be surprised if more decided to immigrate to the Protectorate, at least we give a crap about civilian welfare.

"Looks like Ulaz is on his own." Arxin muttered to himself, and leaned back in his chair thoughtfully. He palmed a communicator on his desk and tapped a small red button on the side.

"Favol, prepare my personal transport for departure. Also, send these deployment orders to Heavy Lifting Squadron 12-9, but tell them to wait on standby until I give the word."

Within a matter of hours, the Marshall's high speed corvette had traversed the vast distance between Cayla and Cvy II in a matter of hours, emerging into the planet's gravity well just in time to intercept a Taln task force headed to its doom.

A gravelly voice came over the ship's intercom. "This is Orbital Command to unauthorized Taln vessels. This is restricted space, stand down and prepare for boarding or be destroyed."

Before anyone in the 4th fleet could respond to the message, Arxin replied, "Hold that thought Command."

He then hit another button on the dash that put him in communication with the current commander of the fleet. "Admiral, you will stand down or be relieved of command. Fall back to Protectorate space."

No response, but the cluster of ships turned to port and headed to the outskirts of the gravity well.

Arxin switched back to the channel used by the Striigiforme naval forces. "Yes, as you may or may not be aware, we've had something of a case of gross insubordination in our ranks regarding the civilians you are currently interning."

"So the Protectorate is now unable to keep it's own commanders in line? Interesting, though I don't see what this has to do with your violating our borders."

The Marshall grunted, but stifled a retort before it could be voiced. "The Admiral was attempting to emaciate them. He is departing now, but certainly the equines are putting a drain on your own planetary resources, are they not? The Protectorate would be more than happy to take them off your hands if you'd be willing to let us evacuate them."

Arxin proceeded to lean back and wait for a response.

The ST [Shooting Star] emits focused waves of subatomic particles that bombard its target. Impact causes the wave function of the particles to collapse and emit extremely intense, zero-point energy microbursts,converting part of it in anti-matter and creating a subatomic colapse in cascade effect.

We can make this an international incident, or you could just let us take in a population that's completely useless to you. They can't serve as hostages, since their government clearly couldn't care less about their fate, they can't serve your military forces, since that's owl-exclusive, and any sort of destabilization campaign would end in failure due to the EE's psionic technology. Perhaps I am mistaken, and you have some special duty for them to perform that's none of the above, yet for the sake of maintaining civility in the galaxy I must reassert my inquiry."

That said, Arxin raised a communication channel to Cayla. "Unless my memory fails me, refits on the 2nd and 3rd Fleets should be completed. I am requisitioning them, as well as initiating S.A.B.E.R protocol. The experimental weapon will proceed here at once, I don't like the looks of that Striig dreadnought."

The Marshall sat in silence for a few moments, waiting for the fleet elements, waiting for the planetary commander to likely repeat their stance. Was there a point to this? Being some white knight charging around correcting perceived wrongs? He'd receive hell for this when he returned, if he returned - the owls probably already had a variety of weapons locked on his minute craft - but it would be worth it. Even the owl's formidable defenses could not withstand a significant portion of the Protectorate's fleet with the new Chimera cannon. The SABER superweapon was just overkill on top of that, but in the event Arxin perished he wanted this maneuver to succeed without immense casualties. If anything, he was more concerned with NeoRome retribution for this action..
