Story Arc 2- The Conspiracy

OOC: 1), ceaseless, not careless. 2) The goal of this plot, to my knowledge, has never been to work towards galactic peace. It is to outmaneuver your opponents in creative and imaginative ways on both the political and military fronts. I based this off the fact that Fenway describes this as being a 'Cold War' scenario, and you can bet your hiney the US and USSR weren't trying to hold hands and make their best efforts to be all friendsy whensy like the UGC, and apparently the EE, are.

I'll reiterate - if this turns into what you people are working towards this RP will die. No matter what you think now, conflict is what keeps this kind of thing going. Once that's gone and our actions are reduced to making concessions and white-knight endeavors it will grow stale very, very quickly. Why do you think the Star Wars universe 40 years after the despotic Palpatine is overthrown still experiences battles and political intrigue?

The 7th and 8th Battle fleets, each under direct command from a member of the NeoRoman Security Division, warped directly into Orion Confederation Space, at one of the major industrial planets. The Hierarch wasn't in command anymore, and he had opposed an assault on any of the worlds from the beginning. Of course, everyone else disagreed. With everyone drawing back, now was the perfect time to strike.

This, of course, was a collaboration strike. Each fleet of the NeoRoman military, save Defense Fleets, was paired with another and given a high-value military target in either Darkstar, the Orion Confederation, or the EE. Other targets included Mobius, Cyrania, and other important worlds. And unlike before, there were no weapon restrictions.

This joint fleet accomplished its goal. Most of the defense forces were off-duty and docked with major shipyards. Surprise. The flagship, now overcharging a Molecular- Disassembler, which had been off-limits before, began cutting large swaths into the military shipyard where countless unsuspecting ships were docked, where nobody suspected an attack.

And the same happened in other worlds. All the militaries were withdrawing, repairing. Some offered resistance, but now that the most powerful weapons were not banned, the fleets made short work of them. And then they began bombarding the planets themselves.

Tiel is right. This is random peacemongering. In any government, you have people who want peace, but you also have the warmongers, and during war situations the warmongers gain more power than the peacemongers. That means they're still in power. The universe is rarely friendly, and the attitudes of nations should reflect that during wartime.


Communique to EE

We would be willing to end our conflict, provided that you surrender all star systems immediately bordering Strigiforme space(All 7 of them). We will provide ships for evacuation of all equines and residents who wish to leave. Supporting them will be your job. Should you decline this offer, we will continue to press our attack, and may step up our forces involved.

"Analysis reads that firing will take a little under a week, including shipping schedule for the missiles."

OOC: Whoa whoa whoa. I didn't use WMD's. I just used more powerful weaponry that, due to the nature of them, were banned from use in the fleet, like the Molecular Disassembler. It's considerably more powerful than Fusion Coil Splicers, but due to the way it functions, isn't as ethical or humane as a Fusion Coil Splicer. As in, while the Fusion Coil Splicer pretty much causes massive system shock and instant death upon the subject, the Molecular Disassembler doesn't kill instantly, and there is a few seconds or minutes of pure agony as the weapon takes your component atoms apart and scatters it completely. It doesn't kill on impact, depending on what it hits. In labs, it could disassemble half an organism and it still lives, fully conscious of their condition. That's why it was banned.

The member of NeoRoman Security Council, given the highly advanced cybernetic implants ingrained within him, was not at all affected by the Harmony's firing. The same could not be said of the crew, however. They seemed shocked at what they were doing. But still, he had operational authority. And all ships were completely equipped with AI's. He chuckled, and isolated himself from the rest of the crew via a very thick blast door. He then locked everyone else out of the ship controls and handed it over to AI control. And he resumed operations.

Of course, on some of the ships, the AI was damaged by the wave, or the crew destroyed it with force, but he couldn't control that.


Back on NeoRome, a member registered the firing of this super-weapon. He acknowledged it and pushed forth orders for the massive Impulse-Fusion Laser to fire upon EE worlds. It would be ready in a day or so.

[Prototype]

Squad CS-1137 was positioned in the tube connecting Deep core entrance D to biological research station 27, they were joined by Omega, who had fled the fight with PRIME-1 with Zero, as Theta used his dispensable body to hold PRIME-1 off

"Men, under no circumstances, can we allow this thing to get past, if it get through before the biological teams can dissasemble the psychic transmitter, then we are as good as dead, all of us, game over, this is one of those moments, where I have to ask you if you are willing to give up your own lives, for the good of all of us, we know PRIME-1 has to come through here, and at the moment there are no other forces in this sector, you may well be our last stand, so, I must ask you, are you ready?"

45 heavy combat troops stood facing Omega, all silent, until one of them, a private, stood to attention

"Yes sir"

The private was followed by more and more, until all troopers were at attention, swearing to lay down their lives to stop this

"Good, ok, here is the plan, I will stay at the front, as you know I can take a lot more damage than you, so don't worry about accidentally shooting me, I will try to pin PRIME-1 down, currently he has no weapon, but he is still very dangerous, weak points are situated on the brain casing, and the organic/mechanical boundaries, however, shoot off an organic limb, and it will grow back, be aware of that"

*clanging noises are heard from the walls*

"IT'S IN THE WALLS!"

PRIME-1 burst from a wall panel, taking out three troopers with its tentacles, several troopers began firing on it, but the shots just kept bouncing off as it advanced and ripped into them

"IT'S NO GOOD, WE CAN'T HURT IT"

PRIME -1 began screeching, and flailing around, a lone trooper moved in with plasma saw, only to be promptly cut in half, the remaining troops backed off, concentrating fire on PRIME-1, a few fled, but Omega could do nothing about this.
PRIME-1 squatted down, preparing to launch itself into the ranks of combat troopers, it pounced, but Omega was ready, he shot his extending claw out, and grabbed PRIME-1's midsection mid air, and brought him in. PRIME-1 began frantically hacking at Omega, but his attacks just bounced off.
Omega extended the plasma cannon on his other arm, and brought it up to PRIME-1's face, calmly placing it right on the brain casing.

"OPEN FIRE"

Omega fired, but the shot did no damage, PRIME-1 had focuses his psychic shield there, leaving his back open to the volley of bullets and plasma bolts from the troops, many of which made direct contact.

PRIME-1 screeched, and went limp, Omega stopped registering any life signals from it

"Stand down men, we are done here"

Omega put the body down, and called for the disposal team who were waiting, watching as they picked up PRIME-1's body, and placed it on a hover trolley, it would be incinerated.

Omega opened a transmission to Theta:
"Sir, we have stopped it, a disposal team is taking the body for incineration"

The disposal team carted the body off, but Omega had failed to see the emblem scratched into the shoulder plate of one of the team, an emblem bore by one of the several extinctionist radical groups, when the team were out of sight, unit TER-1845, otherwise known as Sawson, pulled out a close range disruptor gun, and took out the other three carrying the body, and flipped a catch on PRIME-1's head, which released the brain casing, revealing the brain used in Subject 46, and attached a small device. Sawson then began to cart the body off in a different direction.

Admiral: ALL AVAILABLE SHIPS, OPEN FIRE!!!

The dreadnought's weapons turned toward the nearest NeoRoman ship, which happened to be a frigate, and annihilated it in about 6 hits. The rest of the 5th Fleet followed suit.

The 3rd Fleet had taken the brunt of the NeoRoman surprise attack, as it was the fleet with the most ships docked. But the dreadnought Iron Hammer hadn't been docked. The problem was that it only had about 15 frigates and 5 Nike Heavy Cruisers for support. The admiral ordered the frigates to kamikazi into the NeoRoman ships if they felt they wouldn't survive. 6 of the frigates rammed the biggest ship they saw. The rest of the ships fired, just as the HADES ARROW shot impacted the NeoRoman fleet. Damage was significant.

Bodyguard: With a shuttle that will meet up with a Nike in orbit. From there you'll go to Itus Station.
Chancellor: Very well.

//GENERAL SAXON'S OFFICE//
General Saxon was in a call with the main HQ on Cyrania II. "ACTIVATE THE GOD**** AREA PROTECTION SHIELD OVER THE F****** MAIN SHIPYARD, THE HQ, THE SPACEPORT, AND THE SPACE-DEFENSE WEAPONS!...I DON'T GIVE A CRAP! DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!

As the NeoRoman fleet drew near to a fair-sized space station that they hadn't fired at yet, a sequence was entered into the station's mainframe. 10 seconds later, a 80 megaton fusion bomb exploded. Damage was not immediately assessed, but the bomb was meant to cause damage, so some was definitely caused. It was just a matter of how much.

The 1st and 2nd Fleets warped into the battle just as the station exploded. The 1st Fleet immediately targeted the NeoRoman ships over Cyrania II with its hadron cannons and other weapons, and the 2nd engaged the ships that were going for Cyrania I. The NeoRomans were caught by surprise by the fact that more ships had warped in. A moderate amount of losses to their destroyers and cruisers made them realize that they were now between a hammer and an anvil, the 1st and 2nd Fleets being the hammer.

OOC: The HADES ARROW is not a WMD. It is, however, a very effective anti-fleet weapon. It can penetrate moderate shields and wreak havoc with targeting controls, communications, and can rip apart the material of a ship at the molecular level in a matter of seconds. The blast also has about a 40 mile range. That makes it an anti-fleet weapon.

The NeoRoman fleet at Cyrania was, indeed, screwed. They were taking a lot of damage, but dealing equally as much in return. The Security Council ordered immediate retreat via warp.

"But sir!" Cried the warp operator. "Warping this close to a gravity well will tear us apart!"

"I don't care!" replied the member. "Warp NOW!"

Several of the ships, including the two flagship dreadnoughts, warped out without side effects. Others were not so lucky. If they didn't explode, the ships were pulled apart in half as the warp stresses destroyed the superstructure. Those that didn't warp either went out fighting or surrendered. Of course, there were sizeable casualties.

Of course, the other Joint battle fleet had been waiting for the other fleets to leave so they could begin their assault. The Aurora decloaked, revealing itself and a sizeable fleet, just outside Anstrilia. It began charging it's main gun.

Sawson dragged the limp body of Subject 46, PRIME-1 was no longer using the body, it instead chose to hang around as a psychic prescence, waiting for Sawson to activate the device and allow him back in.

They reached the doors to Biological research station 27, Sawson leant over, and pressed a few buttons on the device he had attached to 46's brain.

Sawson disconnected an assault gun taken from one of his dead comrades, and opened the door to the research station, opening fire on the scientists disassembling the transmitter, striking each one precisely in structural weak points, disabling every one.

Sawson activated the blinking device on 46's brain, and PRIME-1 rushed back into its body, bursting through the doors, and grappling the transmitter, sending out its signal at an increased strength.

It looked bleak, but suddenly, Sawson was bowled over by a blast of unknown origin, Sawson promptly got to its feet and picked the assault gun back up, only to see Zero staring him in the face.

Sawson emptied the guns magazine at Zero, but Zero cast a force field, blocking every shot, once Sawson had emptied the gun, Zero fired the force field at him, crushing Sawson.

Zero turned to PRIME-1, who hadn't noticed him.

Zero launched himself at PRIME-1, grabbing the transmitter, and entering a mental struggle for control of the transmitter

Activate BROKEN ARROW EPSILON in the Anstrilia System. All space stations are to evacuate and self-destruct. Any king of bomb that is left in the system is to be detonated on the planet's surface, including the 8 1500 megaton fusion bombs. These bombs were kept specifically for this protocol. 1500 megatons isn't enough to cover a planet, but these bombs are engineered to spew out as much radiation as possible, to make the planet uninhabitable.

All ships are ordered to join a fleet and wait for the other NeoRoman fleet to warp in.
The HADES ARROW is ready to fire as soon as the NeoRoman fleet warps in
All Area Protection Shields are activated. They protect the key points on every Confederation home planet, most notably the capital city on Cyrania III.

The Chancellor is considering using the TRIDENT superweapon, but doesn't want to start that kind of war.

All ground troops are ordered to dig in and prepare for planetary assault.

The Protectorate has, by mandate of the Directorate, elected to expend copious amounts of funds on Project Chimaera - a research program with the ultimate goal of creating a cost effective and highly portable 2E16 gigawatt plasma cannon of the same dimensions and power consumption of Taln's current and dated Excalibur line of vessel weaponry. It is an extraordinary, and perhaps impossible endeavor, but one that the team of skilled scientists believes they can accomplish within a modest timeframe of one month given recent technological advancements in civilian industry.

Another research team is working on the Cuneiform Defense Mechanism, a magnetically contained polar plasma envelope capable of all but melting every known kinetic projectile on impact and absorbing most directed energy weapons, which when used in conjunction with standard issue shielding increases ship survivability by a significant margin. It utilizes some Striigiforme techniques shared before Taln's leaving the SDI, but bears the unfortunate hindrance of being unable to function as a semi-permeable barrier without leaving the host vessel vulnerable to missile threats such as Darkstar's Javelin. It is thus impossible to fire weaponry while the envelope is deployed, though in light of this the mechanism will ship with a computer capable of stuttering the device, disabling it for seconds at a time, in order to allow fire from the ship to pass through. The nature of this workaround, however, means that vessels utilizing it have a reduced rate of fire, as well as leaving the vessel 'vulnerable' to enemy weapons fire for brief periods of time should captains elect to fire with it deployed. It is hoped that the standard shielding will negate this risk to a degree, though firing with both types of protection active will leave much less power available for other tasks, such as powering the magnets used to ensure the plasma does not slag the vessel itself. It is estimated to take half a year to perfect.

Our scout vessels recently bore witness to one of your vessels detecting Darkstar ships and forcing them to uncloak via a new device. We are interested in this technology, and would be willing to pay a reasonable sum for a working copy of the mechanism used to accomplish this result.
