GOLEM: The Odyssey
Dunno who's pack is this, I saw parts of it in almost all 16x16 futuristic packs at the time I took it. I could find the remains of a halo pack, star trek, star wars , a bunch of random crap and also it's quite heavily edited by me, and the more I look at it the uglier it looks to me.

Applications CLOSED
We start.
Keith looked at the computer.
Only 20 ships, many frigates but just 20 ships.
Second tab, scan results:
6 planets
Star of the class M
2 asteroid fields
and an anomaly.
An anomaly, interesting.
The anomaly sends hyperspace radio waves out. Only artificial objects send HR waves out.
#Command: SCAN ANOMALY ONE
#SCANNING …
#SCAN ENDED, RESULT: A DEEP SPACE COMMUNICATION RELAY PROBE
Good, a relay probe, that is something to start with.
Third Tab:
State of the fleet:
Some ships are lightly damaged, the jump frigate needs jump fuel and the computer of the medical frigate is down.
After checking the computer, Keith went to the E-mail system and wrote to J.Fenway:
General, only 20 ships arrived here, we have a few damaged hull or engine parts on some ships and found a Communication relay.
We should split up into teams, the first one is going to search for jump fuel and the second will go and investigate this relay.
I think I will command the second team, as your ship needs fuel and it would be better if you go with the first team, so they don't have to warp around the system the whole time.
Keith Kummel, Commander of the GOLEM
Keith sent the E-mail and then he dozed a little bit.

Re: GOLEM: The Odyssey
J. Fenway was not surprised by the attack previously, but he was concerned. Calm, but concerned. He read Keith's message, and then opened a damage report on the jump frigate.
He found out why they were so low on fuel. One of the enemy ships had punctured the main jump fuel. He ordered a maintenance team to fix the damage and then scanned the system.
His computer showed the system to be desolate. No remains of civilization. Each planet was glassed over, highly radioactive. Each had a very heavy Kessler Effect- it would be too dangerous to approach those.
But the asteroid fields were another story. They were relatively sparse, as all fields are. You could go miles without seeing any asteroids. A scan revealed nothing, however, and he switched his attention to the nearest planet.
It had the sparsest debris field around it, and there were several large, ruined space stations around it. One of them was outside the major debris field. He scanned it. Inconclusive, but it seemed relatively intact. He decided this was the best option. He opened a communication tab to Keith;
Scans revealed the nearest planet, M-5, to have a relatively intact, abandoned space station. The system has been decimated, and recently. No hostiles in the area either. We will check this station for fuel.

Re: GOLEM: The Odyssey
The Ariel swiftly traversed the hyperspace corridor towards the given destination. Captain Wilson set in front of the hologram of his ship, watching the energy usage and engine outputs jumping back and fourth on the info panels. “We arrive in 5 minutes sir” reported the steersman. Wilson switched screens to transmission logs. “Arrive at the given co-ordinates and assist if necessary, further updates will be given on site” read the message that arrived directly from SOF tactical. “Since when the SOF concerns itself with patrol and rescue missions ... bet’cha have something in the cooking …” he thought.
“We are exiting hyperspace momentarily” reported the steersman. In a flash blink the Ariel exited the hyperspace corridor and the hologram changed into a tactical map of the area. “Eyes ahead, put me on the comms” said Wilson. In front of him laid what seemed to be a field of wreckage. Debris and blown ships were everywhere though a few of the ships still outputted energy. “This is UTFg Ariel of the 35th battlegroup, UTD Sentinel, do you require assistance ?”

Keith went to the communication Terminal and said:
This is lieutenant general Kummel. We are currently about 500 lightyears away from the system we were supposed to go. But we do not give up. We found a communications probe in
this system, but we also found a debris field. Our plan is to split up into two fleets and investigate in A: The debris field, where we will search for jump fuel B: The communications probe, where we want to get informations about the situation outside of this system.
I will load the co-ordinates on your navigation computer, you have to decide where you want to go.
Never quit, never capitulate!
Keith Kummel, lieutenant general.
Keith got back into the pilot position, connected with the ship and set the course to the Probe.

Re: GOLEM: The Odyssey
"Co-ordinates confirmed, awaiting confirmation from UTN Tactical, please standby” said Wilson. “Hold comm Stream, transmit the audio log to SOF Tactical” he ordered and the audio logs were sent back to SOF Tactical in an encrypted long range transmission. The response didn’t take long “Add the following comm Stream: 975 863 127 903 763 154 actTavTrEnCd:54024 “ read Captain Wilson “This dos not look like a valid comm stream” said one of the comm engineers “There aren’t supposed to be any letters” “Enter it anyway” said Wilson.
The comms surprisingly connected and a high resolution image of a man in officer uniform appeared. “This is SOF Tactical we’ve got your connection. You have just activated our newest model of long range communications array. It is capable of transmitting encrypted messages through long range in almost real time connection. From this point on we will be contacting you via this frequency. SOF Tactical is interested in more data regarding the sensor probe, assist those ships as needed and transmit any information you find. SOF Command will be watching your progress”. The screen went off. “Open the comm Channel again. This is the UTFg Ariel we are en route to the communication probe’s last known position”

Re: GOLEM: The Odyssey
The Strigiforme ship hurtled through the violent-red light of a Yttrium-fueled FTL jump. It had performed a random jump to escape its unknown pursuer, and would soon leave the emergency jump with a burned out FTL drive and no stocks of Yttrium. It was an armed, heavy, scout ship, deployed to possibly dangerous frontiers. It had encountered an unknown enemy, far overpowering their ship, causing them to flee.

Re: GOLEM: The Odyssey
Fenway engaged his thrusters and headed toward the station. There seemed to be a fuel leak there, and they could harvest from it.
And there was also life signatures. Not impossible, but very unlikely. He would need to investigate.

Re: GOLEM: The Odyssey
The Ariel approached the communications drone's last known co-ordinates. "Why won't we just use our onboard communications array ?" asked the chief comms engineer "Because such tech was not supposed to be on my ship " answered Captain Wilson "our contact with SoF should remain secret". Flickering dots appeared on the tactical map "This might be it, set course to the possible drone location" ordered the captain. The signal slowly became stronger as the ship approached the drone and the flickering dots combined into one dot ahead of them.
The ship activated the active scanners and investigated the object. The readings of the drone appeared on the screen "try to connect to it" said Wilson "The channel is encrypted , it will require some time to decrypt or a decryption key" reported the chief comm engineer. "This is the UTFg Ariel we found the drone but it seems to be encrypted, do you have a decryption key for it ?" asked Wilson. No reply followed, "This is UTFg Ariel to allied ships do you copy ?". Another set of flickering dots appeared on the tactical map "Sir we are detecting an energy signature similar to that of the drone". Wilson looked at the dots that began to rapidly combine into one "It's not drone, break for evasive manoeuvres !"
The Ariel broke left hard as a large plasma charge flew past the ship "RED ALART RED ALART ! ALL POSTS TO BATTLE STATIONS !" . The frigate turned sharply again and the attacker was now visible from the bridge's illuminators. It was a large spaceship, possibly even a dreadnaught. The black armor plating was dotted with weapon emplacements, the more notable of them were the large plasma cannons that were shooting at them. "Dreadnaught dreadnaught ! 15 clicks out and closing !" "Charge the core to full capacity get us out of here !" ordered the captain "We cannot calculate the jump !" shouted the nav engineer "Use a short range jump jsut get us out !" "On it sir !". The dreadnaught's cannons were charging for another volley "Helm break ! break !" ordered the captain "Maximum on the engines !" "We've got it setup ready to jump !" reported the nav engineer "Then JUMP !". The ship began to accelerate quickly and in one blink they were elsewhere, far away from the dreadnaught.
Silence covered the bridge and only the flashing warnings coul be heard. "I think we made it" "Yea but if they came for the drone it's probably toast" said Wilson. "This is UTFg Ariel to all allied ships do you copy ?" " lieutenant general Kummel is here, your comms went offline what's going on ?" "We were engaged by a large vessel, possibly a dreadnaught. We found the communications drone but there is a high probability it was lost during the engagement"

Hey you thought it's gonna be a joy ride ? Consider you just met your nemesis, if you want to keep things interesting you better have real trouble makers and not some paper battlecruisers you can easily take out. BTW It is entirely possible with a fleet of 20 ships to do it you really try hard in a heroic stand when accidently their core goes caput ofc
