We will attempt to peacefully negotiate with the EE, but all combat forces are to be prepared for combat. We hope that the leadership of the EE will agree to a peaceful solution."

Classified joint SDI/Strigiforme communique

All mothballed ships are to be immediately refit, and all reserve personnel are to be set to full readiness. In addition, a Strigiforme shield cruiser will be deployed to all large flotillas to provide cover. A SDI battlegroup will also be sent to all client home worlds for the duration of the crisis, in case of enemy assaults.

OOC: Fen, Strigiforme and NeoRome are allies, and Taln is part of SDI as well.

Aboard a shipyard orbiting Kethlien, a heavily fortified military planet...

"I want a search party on it immediately!" Admiral Rikierovich spoke in a tone an angry drill sergeant would use on a fresh batch of recruits.
"Sir, we can't risk letting the rest of the population know! As you're most certainly aware, Kethlien is one of our most heavily protected world, if word spreads about the explosion, we could be done for!" The Admiral's assistant was begging at this.
"The public doesn't have to know. We could use one of our stealth teams."
"All unavailable Sir, General Herace left with them on a surveillance mission to the Cavnin Nation."
"Okay, then send in a regular repair crew and if anyone gets too curious, we can say there was a testing malfunction."
"Right away, Sir."

OOC: I'll assume that the escalation was made known to the Strigiforme due to the terms of the SDI Alliance.
Also, DeadlyMiddie, there is no need for production stuff. This is not like the Future Earth RP. This is focused on story and diplomatic interaction.


BIC:

Fenway had rerouted the ship. They were headed back to NeoRome instead of the research station. On the way there, Fenway re-read past log files and new ones. He selected a particular one, which was very old. It dated to the original days of NeoRome, before the other empires had been discovered. Given the time, it was completely declassified.

||REPORT- Shadow of the Colossus||

The Shadow of the Colossus is an ancient prophecy, dating back to the origins of the human race on Earth. It originated from a fanatic industrial society known as the Aeterna Operantium, and had passed through several generations of oral retelling before it was finally recorded in stone tablets. These tablets were unearthed in the year 2865 C.E, and subsequently analyzed.

The Shadow of the Colossus says that, in the age when stars are smashed and the heavens conquered, two unlike enemies will fight in the wake of mass destruction at the hands of Gods. The fight will escalate until they are on the verge of destroying each other permanently.

At this point, they notice the Colossus. They had been in it's shadow the entire time, and they had the chance to stop it. The Colossus does not care for their petty squabble, and merely steps over them as it continues to the grand city of Fluctuetur Insula, a massive city build around the Eternal Forge. There, it will take the forge it and throw the land into complete darkness and decay. The squabble, however, still continues. The enemies are unable to settle their differences enough to combat their threat, and so, they die.

It also speaks of a third party. This party knows to interfere is to die, so instead, they search for the sword forged of every steel. With it, they cleave the fabric of time apart, letting in the Shadow prematurely. But the Eternal Forge will still shine, and the Colossus will stop. As long as the Forge shines, the Shadow is held back, and as long as the Shadow remains in the universe, the Colossus remains still.

This can be applied to many aspects of history that have already occurred, such as the Lambda Leonis incident and the Horus Rebellion. However, given the nature of prophecies themselves, it is very likely false, and these events will never come to pass.

Fenway had no idea why this caught his attention. If anything, this had already happened. Look at the Virus incident. If he was correct, it matched the details. And it didn't apply to the current situation. But he had more important matters to think of. The ship had arrived.

He prepared to contact the EE directly.

In response to the increased tensions between NeoRome and the EE, the UAC Armed Forces are being mobilized in case war breaks out and turns into a wider conflict.

Horus frowned. These tensions were not sitting well with him. He thought, "If tensions continue to escalate like this, we will have war on our hands." He frowned yet again, seeing a report from one of his scout ships operating in [CLASSIFIED]. Many nations were gearing up heavy ship production to an insane level. Suddenly, one of his aides yet out a piercing yell. "What is it, son?" "President, I, um... well, maybe you had better see this report. Horus' face turned an unhealthy shade of red. Now he had to deal with a group of radical, terrorist Andromedans with stolen Andromedan Fleet ships. Just great. (Note- a radical terrorist group has just captured one of the Andromedan Fleet's major shipyards. Andromedan ships were now knocking on his doors, and they were manned by terrorists whose apparent mission is to "Cleanse the Galaxy of these human scum.")

In response to the growing tensions between the EE and NeoRome, the Orion Confederation is now at DEFCON 4. The 2nd Fleet has been mobilized to accompany the 1st Fleet. The Chancellor has also ordered plans to be drawn up for infiltration into the EE, should it be needed.

The Confederation would like to make a joint fleet consisting of 10 ships from each member. We think that it would benefit us greatly as a show of our alliance, and if war does break out.

OOC: DEFCON doesn't work like that lightspeed12. Defcon 5 is lowest readiness, 4 increased, 3 high, 2 next step to nuclear/superweapon war, 1 imminent nuclear/superweapon war.

BIC:

Fenway, on the way back to NeoRome, received a report from the Collect task force. He opened it on his holo-desk and read it.

Apparently, they had intercepted the Darkstar's Search Team's message about the Ar Ciela Tower. Acting upon this information, they went to the site of the tower. They disguised themselves as researchers and fooled the Darkstar team there. From there, they were able to study the tower for one cycle before an actual team showed up and they had to leave. But the data they collected was invaluable.

The language matched that of the Stella Tenebris, another early space-faring empire that existed at the same time of the Aeterna Operantium. The language was hardly translatable. A star map was discovered in the Atrium, and after some searching, they found it precisely matched that of the one found on Lyat after the collapse of the Network, with minor differences. They superimposed the maps. It pointed to a region of space empty of normal matter. It was mostly Dark Matter. They were headed there now, after obtaining Dark-Matter deflection shields. Dark Matter eats away at hulls.

Fenway finished reading as they entered the space of NeoRome. Things were turning again.

"Strigiforme high command has voted to approve re-armament of the Kyytaris-Gyttr DMZ. This section of space separates the majority of the Strigiforme empire from the rest of the galactic community, and was de-militarized in an attempt to show peaceful intention to the several other empires bordering this space. Strigiforme command also intends to begin to build up defenses in this region, so to protect the rest of Strigiforme space. In other news, the Cuuytl Vyr government has donated several billion K'lii to various scientific firms, an a move intended to procure support from the intellectual groups."

Location: Jele Armory Manufactory 3-4C, Kethlien, groundside.

"So, what do you think happened?" The private asked, inquisitive. He was fresh from Oorberon Academy on Ude. His squad's first assignment was security detail of a repair crew.
"I heard it was terrorists, Red Glove no less," One of the other privates piped up, his armor read '334-3 MICHEALS'.
"Red Glove? Are you boys mad or something? Command said it was an industrial accident and I have no reason to doubt my superiors," Their sergeant, a rough man, spoke with a thick accent. A year previously he was a private second-class serving with the 334's, during a firefight with a group of Red Glove his XO was killed and being the highest rank in the squad, he was promoted to sergeant. A loud whir was now audible, it was the unmistakable sound of a 797 Heavy-Duty Fabricator. Large cables of a steel/aluminum alloy were being fed into a large piece of construction equipment that melted the cable and formed it into panels used in a variety of uses from spaceship construction to buildings and household appliances.
