Why can humans eat beef but can't eat other humans ? For the same reason. Plus there is a thing called "animal rights" to let you know and they are not living in slavery. Robots are tools as much as sticks or rocks. Unless you plan to free rocks from our slavery there is no point in doing the same to robots. IF the robot has feelings then it becomes more of a sapient form of life which does mean it has some rights but then it's not a robot anymore.

No, to give humans animal rights is not exactly ... ethical either. I'm sure you have far more advanced needs than just food and sex.

Your are right at some point that those are behavior norms we established - not to eat others, not to go naked ... Moral is a subjective thing and thus we cannot force it on others, yet those morals are essential for our survival as human race. Can we function as a normal society when we know that a human to a human is a prey ? That you might get killed and eaten on the street ? Or that you might end up as a slave one day ?
