In the year 3228, a colony ship left Earth for a journey to the Andromeda galaxy. A certain binary white dwarf star system was teeming with dwarf planets, all of which were rich in uranium, helium, iron, and Hydrogen-2, otherwise known as Deuterium. This colony chose the name Phalanx, and soon became a Democratic and famously liberal colony. Then, in 3563, this peaceful mining community became fraught with strange gravetic anomalies which pulled in ships and crushed them so densely they were almost to the point of becoming a black hole. The following year, an invasion by an unknown class 2 species caused the once peaceful colony to be torn apart by war. Then the Earth military arrived, and the battle was not even close. the aliens were crushed, but are not destroyed. Phalanx Industries now provides the protection of this incredibly valuable mining system, as the Phalanxian government decreed they would not be woefully unprepared as they were in 3564- and would provide for their own protection.

FTL Drives- Now apparently advanced enough to travel 2.5 million light-years in less than 250.

Actually, quantum tunneling was used on an extremely large scale. We have already been able to teleport small atoms using quantum entanglement/tunneling, what makes you think a 1000+ years from now we can't do that on a large scale?Professor Fenway wrote:FTL Drives- Now apparently advanced enough to travel 2.5 million light-years in less than 250.

Re: The Founding of Phalanx Industries
But under the same logic, it would be presumed that Anti-Gravity would have been perfected to the point where the random gravitational singularities did NOTHING. And the Aliens would have been immediately exterminated with small-ship defenses.
Also, where have we teleported atoms and KNOWN where they went?
EDIT: Quantum teleportation is unrelated to the common term teleportation

Re: The Founding of Phalanx Industries
I said class-2 species. The aliens were INTELLIGENT and under the name class 2, could harvest the energy potential of an entire STAR and then some. They, understandably, would have crushed a local system milita if they brought their military. See this to understand what I mean. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scaleProfessor Fenway wrote:But under the same logic, it would be presumed that Anti-Gravity would have been perfected to the point where the random gravitational singularities did NOTHING. Well, about teleporting atoms... dont forget that this is set over a thousand years in the future. Understandably, our calculations would be accurate. And, this is sci-fi!!!! NEVER forget that.

Erm...
Altough this is sci-fi, we do have some limitations for our members to prevent people from getting an unfair advantage in the RP.
Surely you can understand that. Otherwise, you´ll have to leave the RP, and I don´t want that to happen.

Okay, I see your point. But my logic was that this far in the future tech like that would be mainstream, but whatever, you win.Ivan2006 wrote:Erm...
