Sorry about the double post but i made a new heavy cruiser >:D At the moment it is completly detail/interiorless, but I am still in need of suggestions for that as every time i try and detail it on my new ships it looks horrible, still; i like the new style since it halves building time and looke nicer. I am unsure about how to put guns on this though, at the moment i am thinking of detailing the pincer things at the front to make tham look like a giant energy weapon. Btw this is 458 blocks long at the mo.

They certainly look cool. But really, they are just a series of diamonds stuck together.

Yeah, it doest exactly demonstrate enormous building skill, a 4 year old could do it in 5 minutes, but I like it anyway; plus its unique (i think :S, correct me if im wrong)
It means i can build big ships a lot faster too, ive currently got a 1300 block long ship being built and its only 3/4 done, this is actually harder to build than my other dreadnaught too, its hard to get 30000 diamonds to look like a proper ship and not just a mess. This style makes up for its speed in the detailing anyway, its a "$%^ to do >:| <-- thats addressed at the detailing, not people.

Sorry about the double post but i made a new destroyer, it was origionally meant to be a dread but it enden up being 2050 blocks long because the back didnt look right untill i made it enormous. Heres a pic, it looks even weirder than my other new ones, but i like the way it looks as if you could be impaled on the front >:D

I use Eihort, Dr.Mackeroth suggested it to me :), you can change the render distance to anything you want in the config, but on 2500 r distance i get about 2 fps :(

Big. I think using a paint brush is cheating though...

It is a bit, but at the moment I don't actually have the time to build these by hand, anyway; building like this means I can focus more on the detailing when I eventually get round to it. In any case, I need to use the brush to build in this pointy style, mainly due to the fact that I can't build diamonds or points to save my life.

Edit: Also world edit has broken for me, so building ships this size in the minecraft client has become impossible, plus I am building up to a really big ship, so big, that given that I have my first 3 exams in a months time, that building them wrought the brush tool would be stupid, anyway I am lazy, and don't like tedious repetitive block placing :(

If you use a small, spherical brush, you can grow vine-like patterns on your ship, it's great for making organic ships.

organic means that is is natural and not calculated, a symmetrical ship isn't organic.
