[Professor Fenway]

High overhead Mobius, several cloaked ships silently monitor the actions going on below. They had trust in Ivan's ability, but now not so much. They saw the mob, the protests, and saw how Ivan barely stopped them. They continued to monitor and sent the situation to NeoRoman High Command. They weren't to intervene, but if Ivan can't regain favor and stop this rebellion, they would have to step in. The rebel's ideals threaten the stability of the sector. They didn't know what caused it, as they could only monitor from up here, no matter how advanced the imagery and technology used to identify it. That would require a ground team. And on order of the government, secrecy is top priority. So they simply stood there, silent and far away from any major traffic lanes, and watched.





NeoRoman News Update:

The Third and Fourth battle fleets have blockaded the Prions and surrounding systems from Novum Influence. So far, they have avoided engagement but continue to take no further action. The Tenth battle fleet has been specially refitted based on data and observations of Novum tactics, weaponry, and defenses. This fleet is currently enroute to the area of conflict, and will serve to help push out the Novum invasion force.

Ivan, seeing how support for him is crumbleing again, holds another speech:
"I hereby give away any right to sentence anyone to anything I have had.
From now on, everyone will have a proper trial. I would have done this at one swoop with the election, but I see that it may be better to give that power away now.
I didn´t intend to use it, but I saw that the corrupted had to be punished by the laws they made themselves.
I also made sure the new council consists of equal ammounts of members from all of the "castes".
Please, do not fear me because I used my power for a last time.
I will not harm any of you and so will everyone else, but that was required to ensure stability.
Anyone with a suggestion on how to change the situation to the better without a civil war may send this Idea to the council.
I will read them personally, at least the ones that aren´t spam.
Anyway, elections are set in one month.

The round Council chambers was filled with blood-thirsty hoots and harsh caws. The Council was in an uproar, as the Leader, Thyssil Halyr, stood before them. He shouted for silence, and the Council calmed. Thyssil then waved for a trio of soldiers to bring a large glass grease-marker board over, and he began drawing on it. All Council members were well versed in military tactics, so they understood what came next.

"As you were briefed before hand, the Eggman Empire is experiencing serious revolutionary actions, possibly inflamed by outside sources."

The glass board lit up, showing a map of the galaxy. "Our forces are grouped in the Astheov-4, a border system near the Cavnin regions. At any moment, 65% of our offensive forces can sweep up and take the EE. However, we must come to an agreement of the worth of this conquest."

A Councilor with red feathers on his wing bases cawed loudly to get attention. The Council silenced their slight chatter in anticipation. "Council. I have convened with the Trading Bloc before this meeting, and we have agreed that the conquest of this region would allow ample trading options in the sector, more than we are currently capable of performing. We have also acquired mineralogical scans of the region, and have found that the region of space is rich in titanium and terbium, both vital for shipbuilding."

Another Councilor, this time with a scattering of yellow chest feathers, hooted roughly. She then began to speak. "Honored Council, we of the Military Bloc have performed a thorough scan of hostile elements in the region, and found that due to the current revolutionary actions, the planetary defenses should be nom-operational. Their ships will most likely also be at minimum combat effectiveness. We expect that if we were to invade, we would lose at highest 45% of the invading forces, at least 15%. We expect them to be in a state of total unpreparedness, but as we progress in conquest, their unification will increase. The invasion will also weaken the resolve and strength of their alliance, allowing Allied forces to swarm the borders. We will co-ordinate offensive action with Tien command."

Thyssil glided to the center of the chambers again. "Now, we must vote. Shall we invade these...... People, or shall we leave them be? All in favor of invasion, press the red console buttons. All in favor of peace, the green button."

Ivan barely manages to stabilize the situation but he did manage to slightly improve his ruined image among the people. Unfortunately it won't be nearly enough to win the elections but it will make sure his head is in place afterwards. There are a few outcomes of this situation, mostly depending on the debates. All were carefully shaped to fit the needs of the union. EE has already fallen, the question is how.

Well it's not that they have something to forgive. Let's admit it - their life is s***, they lack security with pretty much everyone putting their eye on them, the society is crumbling (scores 2/10), you've lost your money support , my Zealots still use my special tech all over Mobius . Your chances to win are not high. I'm just weighting the best way to win.

On a positive note you didn't screw it up completely (maybe you actually found my secret advice ) .

Handleing it quite well by now... Considering our population is mostly made out of Mobians and Ponies, everything should become normal again in time...
However, if we get attacked before the elections and the attackers make it onto the surface of Mobius, we´re in trouble.
I have gotten intel that the owls might try an attack, so military help is appreciated.
Also, it appears that the infiltrator was a member of the UTA making trouble. We dealt with him.
Please don´t attack the UTA now, again, we might have a civil war if any agressors make it on out surface in a month or less.

Hierarch Fenway waved away the board members who were currently meeting with him. He had more important matters. "Seal the room," he ordered his security guard. Shortly after the doors closed and the guard left, Fenway opened up a highly encrypted channel. After passing several, high level security codes, code words, locking mechanisms, the connection began. Quite soon, the channel connected. Fenway looked up into the face of his feathered informer.

"Greetings Alpha. I can confirm meeting can take place," the owl said.

"Excellent. What's the situation on the Strigiforme meetings?"

"They're planning an invasion on the EE. They held a vote yesterday. I couldn't gain access, but I did manage to place several stealth bugs in the room."

"The reasons?"

At this time, the owl pressed something out of view. A voice recording began.

"Council. I have convened with the Trading Bloc before this meeting, and we have agreed that the conquest of this region would allow ample trading options in the sector, more than we are currently capable of performing. We have also acquired mineralogical scans of the region, and have found that the region of space is rich in titanium and terbium, both vital for shipbuilding" It clicked off.

Fenway stood up. "This information is of critical importance. Agent Beta, destroy the recordings and all stealth chips you have placed and await further orders. We can't let them know we're here. Do not engage in further espionage."

"Roger Alpha. Beta out." The owl disconnected. The monitoring computer clicked. It acknowledged that the transmission was completely secured and uninterrupted. Good. Fenway switched to another secure channel, directly to the military admiral Ash, monitoring the EE's world.

"I am authorizing protocol 736-EE, Ash. As we discussed, each shield ship and accompanying fleet will be placed at several locations in the EE's critical systems, where we discussed. Make sure they are all hidden and off the radar at all times. If event Kappa occurs, activate every one and start protocol 654-EE. Modify weaponry and shields to counter Strigiforme Technology."

"Roger sir." Ash shut off.

Fenway sat back in his chair, contemplating the situation. Yes, the EE was an enemy, but given the whole picture, they must not fall. Not to the rebellion, not to the Strigiforme, not anyone. The economic consequences, military, lives lost. Technology, long buried and that should be never unearthed, hidden there. Too much was at stake. Stability is crucial.

Sorry, altough there might be neutron matter in our region, the EE does not require it for its technologies and thus are not harvesting it.
As a result, our current ammount of neutron matter is 0.001 milligrams.
Also, we won´t buy those devices from you.
Firstly, some might see its usage as unethical, making our situation even worse while there is the possibility of the things being a trap and actually either making a lot of colatteral demage or going off on the user.
So... no, we don´t buy that stuff.
