It was supposed to be a covert attack, but I submit to the logic that they could've picked up the ships on radar while they're en route.

Yea it is a surprise attack and they couldn't pick it up early but they can setup defences in the system regardless (As you better make sure your systems are protected right ?)

Only Four Sentry Cruisers, help would not arrive for days considering coms are down. However, 2 midsize railguns also guard the facility.

Hmm. I think CatsVsNinjas's ships are scarier than Tiel's ships, especially with the railguns and homecourt advantage. Tiel's ships are faster, so they can probably get away if the want to, but Cats has enough firepower to protect his carrier.

That's your job. I can figure out who wins, but you guys still have to write the stories. Otherwise I would have to do work.

I can't extrapolate how the battle goes, otherwise I'd take advantage and say I managed to take out two Sentry cruisers, Then Cavnin would get mad and dispute it, and you see where this is going. Figuring that out and posting it in lore-friendly manner is your job.

Fine. The Taln fleet decants from hyperspace directly in front of the Cavnin fleet. The railguns, already aimed, blast two gaping holes through one of the Excelsiors. The Sentries immediately open fire on the other Taln ships, firing rippling broadsides that peel their hulls open and liquify the insides. There are no survivors.

Now, you can have that, or you can have the concise answer and save a few of your ships. My goal here is to convince you that making me tell a story is a bad idea.
