For the longest time, Dr. Ivo Robotnik was a pretty bad-ass character, utilizing nuclear/chemical/biological weaponry, robotic death machines, non-corporeal entities, super lasers, alternate timelines, mass hysteria, enslavement, all while being the perfect embodiment of a mad scientist, with the mustache, insane laughter, and crazy schemes.

Ivan has changed that, changed the image of the dictator to a pony-loving freak. Thank you for ruining my childhood.

I didn´t change Ivo Robotnik.
In my version of Mobius, Dr. Robotnik has a lethal illness and requires life support to survive, thus he turned over a lot of his power to SGM Ivan Kintobor who turned the EE into a reasonable, diplomacy using country with the command center of the Egg Fleet on Equestria (abandoned Exion base to the north of Seattle), run by Ponies.

Also, Ponies are not neccessarily all girly.
The version of Equestria part of my EE is one of the many versions featuring "Doctor Whooves".
Those versions tend to be more serious.
I mostly enjoy the MLP fandom and its works.
Honestly, I don´t even watch all the episodes, because some are just too childish.

For me Pony = species resident to Equestria, ruled in a monarchy, highly modular storyline => awesomeness initiated.

Actually, I´ll post a link to a rather dark pony tumblr blog to demonstrate that ponies aren´t always "Sunshine, Lolipops and Rainbows", instead, they can be "Vortex, Cupcakes and Explosions" as well.

Actually, none of the Princesses rules over a "time".
As far as I figured it out (and it is compatible with the Copernicus-model), Celestia uses her power to hold Equestria in an otherwise unstable orbit (being visible as sunrise and sunset for anyone of the pre-Copernicus era) while Luna does the same with the Equestrian moon.
The two co-rule Equestria. (Propably Celestia does the official stuff as she is most seen of the two while Luna does the paperwork. Or something...)
Princess Cadence is the Princess off love and rules over the Cristal Empire.
Also, there seem to be other members of royalty, like Prince Bluueblood (who doesn´t seem to hold any government position except for being the greatest snob in Equestria) who are not Alicorns.
Also, Equestria is often reffered to as a kingdom, leaving the Question where the King/Queen is.
Regarding Discord: He is now one of the good guys, but noone has seen him or talked about him in the show since his reformation, making his activities rather... unknown.
About Princess Twillight: She has just been crowned, so it is unknown where she will live now or what her duties are. It can, however, be said that she will propably be the princess of friendship.
