What do you mean? It works the same way Minecraft works.

Oh. It focuses on making huge, complicated structures that are actually an engineering challenge instead of just having a block that does something. For example, IndustrialCraft has a compressor block. It's just a block, with a GUI, that you put another block into, and it compresses it. If BTW had a compressor (which it doesn't, this is just an example) it would involve actually using pistons to squeeze a physical block, and having a hopper to collect the stuff that was squeezed, and a nightmare of axles and redstone to get the thing to work right, and it would end up being a thirty-block tall snarl of machinery that took three awesome hours to get working. Designing something like that and making it work right is a totally different experience from crafting a single block and placing it somewhere.

But how does it handle the actual crafting? It could be useful in FC if we don't want Magic Blocks.

Most crafting happens either on a normal crafting grid or on an Anvil, which is a crafting table except with a 4x4 grid. There's a strong emphasis on getting things by other means than crafting, though. One of FlowerChild's favorite sayings is that "Minecraft should be played in the world, not the crafting grid". He does add a few single-block things, too, of course, because there's really no way to get around having a couple, but he tries to incorporate them into multi-block structures whenever possible. For example, the Crucible is a single block that melts stuff. But to use it it has to be over a Hibachi, which makes fire, and the Hibachi has to be next to a Bellows, to stoke the fire, and the Bellows needs alternating power so you'll need a Turntable with redstone torches to toggle it on and off, and so on and so forth.

No. It has a millstone, though.

What does a millstone do? If it increases output for ore it is a macerator.

No. It grinds wheat into flower, coal or charcoal into coal dust, netherrack into ground netherrack, reeds into sugar, blaze rods into blaze powder, and stuff like that. It can't grind rocks or anything particularly hard, although it can grind bones into bone meal. It's a millstone, much like ones in real life.

sounds like a way to make minecraft mechanisms work without being inconspicuous. Also, is world edit any good and can it be loaded using forge?
Fr0stbyte: We can't place minecart tracks on the ceiling. That would look ridiculous.

Any maps supporting traincraft?

Post by Ra1der Dr1verz » Thu Feb 21, 2013 10:57 am

hhmm... are there any maps of like, cities, with tram lines on them? if not, anyone got any good maps of cities they could recommend? (modern or futuristic, no past ones.)

I think Maids Mod is a bit... strange.
And Dragon Mod? Not sure which one you mean (since Mojang stated the eventual possibility of a red dragon without actually releasing it and the release of the Enderdragon, there are many dragon-mods...)
