Ham radio (more specifically, ham radio satellites. In space. Yeah.).Daynel wrote:What are you gonna use it for?
144MHz, i.e. 2m VHF. I haven't actually added the coax yet (plan on using RG-8X with a BNC connector), but I plan on using it with my handheld once I do. I live in a mountainous area and there's a decent-sized hill between myself and the nearest repeater, so it's pretty much necessary. Plus there's the satellites.CMA wrote:...what frequency are you using again?
Ah. I see now. What is with your sudden love for ham radio anyway?Tau wrote:Ham radio (more specifically, ham radio satellites. In space. Yeah.).Daynel wrote:What are you gonna use it for?

I got the measurements from here.
Also, CMA, can I get your callsign again? I'm getting my license in March and may be able to access a repeater in your area from here.
It's not sudden; I've been trying to get my license for at least a year, and since I'll be taking the exam in early March, I'm somewhat excited. This tends to happen sometimes. Plus, I like building random shit, so.CommanderKobialka wrote:What is with your sudden love for ham radio anyway?
Wouldn't affect anything, I doubt you could reach England(:DDDDD) on 144MHz.Prototype wrote:Not sure if I should be reaching for my tinfoil hat
For a matter of fact, it is physically impossible for EM waves to effect thoughts, as they would end up stimulating all parts of the brain equally and therefore not having any mind-control effect IF it was possible to interfere with human brains that way. Tinfoil hats are therefore ineffective.CMA wrote:Wouldn't affect anything, I doubt you could reach England(:DDDDD) on 144MHz.Prototype wrote:Not sure if I should be reaching for my tinfoil hat
