Love is a thing. It can be good or bad. If I had problems with boys or girls, I'd seek somebody else, rather than post them on a public forum. If, even then, I wanted to seek one of your advice, I'd do it privately, probably. That's just me, though. I'm naturally suspicious of society, so I'm not the best person to share.
You first.

BABY, DON'T HURT ME. DON'T HURT ME, NO MORE.
Sorry, I'm sorry. I couldn't resist.

In case of love, apply honesty.
AFAIK, most relationships where one of the partners hides ones sexual interests form the partner break down.
Also girls are complicated from a male's perspective.
Trust me, assuming to know how a female feels based on her body language won't work if the topic is love.
Also being overcompetitive with other potential partners of said female won't help either of you.
If you have competition, outclass it. Any attempt of keeping any other competition from reacing your interest will result in the interest losing interest in you.
Also, try not to be hypercritical when someone says something you don't like/you think is a threat.
Love is not a battlefield, it actually is (supposed to be) about peacefully being together. (exceptions are possible if both partners agree to an unconventional relationship) (that last point applies to basically anything)
Is this what you needed?

Love(That is, the modern distortion of infatuation) is irrelevant.

AFAIK, love is that weird game, in which the only winning move is not to play.

It stands for Global Thermonuclear War.
Anyway, you can win in love.
But not by winning AGAINST others, but by gaining a MUTUAL benefit.
Edit: one other tip: if there are people who are your superiors are racist/hateful against your interest or the relationship, you may want to tell your interest it would be a bad idea if that person found out (of course, after confessing you actually love him/her) instead of trying to hide it on your own and confusing your mate.

Unless the book is written by CMA.
Or if the pope is an owl.

That rule has no exceptions.

Mutual benefit isn't the goal. Mutually assured destruction is. This is love/GTNW. Same thing really.
