But honestly, a lot of NAZIs live in South American exile AFAIK (of course not the original ones, they are dead, but their descendants, often still with the same world view, are quite common there).
I don't know about Chile, but I know Argentina is quite a hot spot for right-wing extremists.

Not at all, I dunno what you read about the Third Reich but from my history lessons they were well oiled and organized machine perfectly subordinate to their leader.

Left-wing is Socialism, AKA "everyone is equal", so left-wing extremists say "Everyone is equal and if someone thinks they can get any benefit, which would disrupt equality, they shall be purged!".
Right-wing on the other hand is Nationalism, AKA "Hey, I am cool, because I'm from _____", so right wing extremists say: "We are superior! Submit to our superior rule or pay the price for not obeying the superiority!"
Both extremes basically need a dictatorship to function long-term in a human society.
I personally prefer 'political maps' with two coordinates (left-right and freedom-order) over the 'traditional' gauge with just left and right.

I use the 3D political grid. Left right as normal, up and down for freedom-totalitarian, and fore-aft for capitalist-communist.
