Why bother Tau ? Much safer to have both to be true, they can run parallel, plus if you already have an OS I don't see what kind of superior experience the Zorin offers ...

been thinking about getting a new laptop and i wouldnt mind getting windows 8 as long as windows 7 games are compatible...

Well it mainly goes on the notes of "Don't feed the devil"...

Other OSs have their adv, most notable stability, windows is generally neither that secured nor stable, also older programs don't work on later windows versions anymore. In that matter Windows XP is to this day the best windows ever released and offers everything newer windows have while still working with both newer and older programs, also seems to be the last OS that works well with assembly programming O.o . And BTW did you know that Bill Gates didn't actually create windows ? He bought it from a beginning programmer.

It did work, ultimately. I had to mess with the UEFI bios since it works hand and hand with Windows 8, and kept trying to start it despite the fact that the drive was completely vacant. That may have been the cause of the black screen in the first place. After that I was able to boot from the 7 installation disc and happy times for all.

So, word of advice to anyone seeking to upgrade windows 8 to 7 in new PCs- make sure you disable SecureBoot and enable Legacy booting support, or you're going to have a bad time.

It freezes/crashes all the time, is ugly, confusing and isn't nearly as good as W7.
