My timeline.
2023 - First Colony on mars

2090 -Tests for a warp drive being made at the edge of our solar system.
More or less that.

by 2045 we will be downloading our brains to computers so we can live forever. then who knows? 3d printing might get to the point where we can print entire human bodies to upload our brain to. i will no doubt live to see the day when we have colonies on not only mars, but many of the moons in our system as well. heck, if i dont decide ive lived too long eventually, i will see the day when another earth like planet is colonized far from our solar system. 100 years ago, people dreamt of flying cars, rocket ships, and phones that could be used anywhere on the planet. today, everything science fiction to them then is reality to us today! a great flying car builder that i cant recall the name of has built a several types of cheap vtol plane cars that a car company in china, and the US have agreed to begin mass producing in a few years. the mars one mission is training six brave men and women to live on mars for the rest of their lives, beginning in less than ten years. commercial space flights are becoming affordable for the middle class. computers are being trained to respond to our thoughts. clean energy is becoming a reality for the world. wether peole like it or not, or realize it or not, the leaders of the world are working to establish a one world government. we will live to see great advances in technology. by the time we are all 50, we may have the choice to extend our lifetimes for another few hundred years. now its only a question of wether or not the government chooses to use this new technology wisely. as many of the countries around the world fall further and further into a police state or worse for the US, an orwellian society, i can only be enthusiastic that leaders after obama will make the right choices, or that the people will fight for what they believe in.
this took me forever to write on my kindle.

I think, if we're lucky, we'll get a successful mission to Mars in the 50s, or at least some permanent base on Luna. For lifetime extensions (cell filtering and such), there have been estimates for the 40-50 year range, so we might be able to slide in before the curtain falls. Any kind of near-light or FTL I think would happen at least a century from now. People are always dreaming about the future, so ambitious and hopeful, but usually their ideas never come to fruition or happen decades after the deadline set by their hope.

In 2050, the first commercial fusion reactor is supposed to be activated, a clean new technology for energy production.
Several missions to mars are planned, some people are enthusiastic about actually uploading human conciousness onto a machine by 2045, plans are being made and partially already carried out to start asteroid-mining.
the new technology is driving humanity forwards fast.
The question is which road the leaders of our world will take.
If it is the road to war, we have a problem.

the us government is taking the road to war not just with the middle east but with its own people as well. using 9/11, a terrorist attack that was very likely set up by them, as an excuse to set up cameras to watch its own citizens is despicable. just recently info about a camera equipped drone that can see a candy wrapper on the ground was released as it watched american citizens from the sky. and why the heck are our relocation residential centers equipped with double barbed wire fencing and guard towers? on that note, if the US government is going in the direction i think it might be, then some of us might not live to see these days.

I do not support any illegal actions taken against the government of the United States. Yet.

Kobi, I apologize if I'm being a bit nosy, but what's your political orientation?
