Hello everyone, summer's here, so I won't be as busy as I have recently. I'll try to get up to date on everything, including the RP, but it's been a while, so if someone could fill me in that'd be great. Now rejoice, as cats is back and your lives are no longer pointless and dull!

Okay, so basically - conspiracy. Tons of weird s**t going on. We have a ton of factions, most of which are aligned with either the SDI - Stellar Defense Initiative, or the UGC - United Galactic Commonwealth, two military alliances. UGC is a do-gooder alliance, and has the most empires aligned with it, whereas the SDI is more malevolent in nature and is comprised of less, but far more powerful, nations. There are some independents, like my own Taln Protectorate after it dropped out of the SDI, or Vinyl's Novus Colonia, but they're a significant minority. Most of the plot consists of friction between the two coalitions, with the rest of the galaxy squeezed in between in a Cold War-esque scenario filled with subterfuge, arms races, and treachery.

The story so far: Tensions mount in the wake of various terrorists attacks on factions still recovering after the Third Galactic War. The UGC desperately proposes a conference at a station built as a joint endeavor between the SDI and itself, and many important delegates elect to attend. However, just as the meeting begins a catastrophic chain reaction in NeoRome flagship Ragnarov's new Striigiforme fusion core destroys the facility, killing almost every diplomat onboard. Furious, members of the UGC declare war on the Owl empire, coming to the conclusion it was behind the recent terrorist strikes. The SDI, in turn, furiously fends off their attacks with their superior resources.

But, cooler heads prevailed as something of an unofficial ceasefire was reached between the two alliances, if not a shaky one. Hostilities do not cease, but members of neither pact dare not aggress on territories of the opposition for fear of retribution. One spark is all it'd take to turn the tables on the haphazard treaty, and plunge the galaxy into total war once more...

(oh, and apparently NSCD has some super-duper alien warship roaming about. But that's not important.)

True, you also forgot the catastrophic damages to NeoRome/Mobius/Cuuyth after a limited Super-Weapon war occurred. NeoRome had ground industry and power crippled, Mobius was bombarded by chemical/biological weapons, and Cuuyth had their shields completely fried.

I got to make the most one-sided peace treaty in history. More like a surrender, really.

I saw that, but minor damage not worthy of mentioning. Noting that there were increased hostilities for a time would encompass that as well.

Think the Cold war.
The U.G.C [United Galactic Commonwealth / Conglomerate ] is a union of nations and corporative leaders under a single banner. Profit,Prosperity and Technology is the main aim of this,as well as a form of official government. Like, some governments dont listen individual corporations. So now a big "empire" or "federation" was created by major corporatios capable of funding colonies on their own or even individual research and etc. Look at the U.G.C page in the RP section.
While the U.G.C is a big state of united nations and corporative leaders, the S.D.I is comprised of few nations, however with more "identity" because they are truly empires. We are talking about empires and federations here.

So its like NATO and Warsaw pact,in my point of view.

Now to the history,my fellow friend Tiel here explained pretty much everything. One spark can explode the entire universe.

Lightspeed founded the UGC. I would tell you to take his words with a grain of salt on account of this, but I think his bias is unsubtle enough that such a warning is unnecessary.

You are forgetting about the ACH's Barrage Cannon, the EE's BattleEgg (or whatever it is, forgive me if I forgot the name), and the Protectorate's SABER.
