Monsters that are supposed to be scary but aren't

We all know this you watch a movie or play a game, see a scary or disgusting monster and then you play a game or watch a movie where the same monster appears and it's just not scary or disgusting. Maybe because the scenery is not right and the monster doesn't fit in it, or the monster just looks not good. For instance:
I was watching a movie where an undead army rides on nightmares (fire horses) and it was dundidilidu creepy.
Then I was testing WoW just for fun on my friends account and when I saw somebody riding a nightmare for the first time and I thought: "No offense bro, but I think your little pony is burning."
Do you know other examples?

Sorry, but I´ve got to do some protesting here:
1.)That on the second pic ain´t a "My Littly Pony"-toy, I don´t know what it´s from, but it´s propably crap.
2.)Ever heard of Pokemon? They invented fire horses in generation 1.
3.)I don´t reallly get why a blaing horse would not be frightening.

Indeed, I´ve seen her walk right into the void and come back.

I get this with Lovecraft stories. The descriptions of these cosmic horrors start to sound like they are being described by a little kid. "This monster has lots of tentacles and is so scary that when you look at him your eyes explode and you die." I get that the unknown is scarier, but there are limits, man.
I don't know, maybe I still have too many sanity points to properly appreciate them.

Is Kim Jung Il or Un supposed to be scary?

Those two Korean officers don't have the same number of buttons on their coats. That's completely ruined the picture for me.

They both have the same amount of buttons, but one has one less buttoned and the fold-y part covers the unbuttoned button.

Vinyl is correct. What ruined it for me is the officer on the right has his eyes closed. This breaks military doctrine like a sledgehammer.

He´s not got his jacket buttoned correctly and has his eyes closed?
I really hope for him that his eyes closed were an instinctive reaction to the camera flash, or he´ll be in major trouble...

Thanks a lot, that made me laugh so hard I woke my parents up.
And another monster that SHOULD be scary, but isn't:
