I agree with everything except the fact that Reddit is really ****ing mainstream.

While there are some hipster subreddits, Reddit as a whole is really mainstream.

My statement up there wasn't the owl research. Owl research was 3 owls continuously monitoring reddit for a few weeks to understand the userbase. They concluded it was all hipsters.

As for real military intel, we do good on that. Military intel and civilian surveillance divide when one side can feasably kill you. Besides, everyone knows that everyone warped in then because they wanted to conquer your world, not to help you! Also, your traps have to actually hurt ships to be effective, and I don't remember a good track record of this.
