Really ? Is that what bothers you ? I'll even tell you as a fact that soon enough you are going to be a minority, with Muslims being 25% of the world's population. Really there is no difference between you or any other religion in priorities. If you read this as an insult to Christianity you are quite radical in your approach. As a matter of fact my Google shows me a picture of some Israeli singer who turns 90, don't give a damn about her but it's a fact. For this reason Google has diff home pages for diff countries.

I'm agnostic (despite also being a Conservative southerner). This can be hard when your entire family, both immediate and extended, is Protestant Christian. Despite this, I find your words to be horrifyingly bigotous, Joykler. The religious folks are free to believe (and do, to an extent) whatever they want.
If they want to build massive monuments to their god(s), let them. If they want to spend their time not eating pork, praying all the time, and bathing 6 times a day, let them. If they want to constantly offer burnt sacrifices, let them. If they want to go to church twice a week at 8:00AM, let them. If they want to do something even more ridiculous, let them. If they want to fly planes into buildings, (don't) let them. (That last one was a big {BIG} exception to this.)
In short, you have no power to manipulate their opinions, even if those opinions should happen to be wrong. Don't be a bigot, or I'll kick your sorry @$$.

they all do wrong by accusing others to misbehave
and tell them they go to hell
in the meantime they look down on woman
they take days off for no reason
they dont believe science
and while we are in this hell hole they also tell people how to behave
not drink dont have sex before marriage
dont eat pork
and then all the times religion plunged humanity in war countless

Let him say what's on his mind, as long as he puts it in a way that does not offend anyone on the forum and does not violate the rules. It is alright to have a discussion with often clashing opinions.
Just as a side note Joykler if you deny them the right to believe in what they want you are no better then those who force religion on others. Every belief has a reasoning behind it. Christianity and Islam and Judaism and Buddhism all have a lot of sense in them in many ways. They established the rules of society as you know it today, it wasn't obvious at that time not to murder or not to steal. Judaism has some very advanced rules such as leaving 1/10 of your field for those who don't have food to harvest and make themselves food. There is also a rule about how to treat animals and how to treat slaves (At that point they were like that Chinese working power you use to do the black jobs nobody want to for you such as building or working in a factory). Before eating you must wash your hands in Jewish tradition and also take a bath once in a while which pretty much saved they Jewish European population from the black plague, just to be murdered by the locals who blamed them in creating it

. Islam puts a high value on Jihad which is not what you know today, but rather donating to religion which served to educate children and to the community. You don't eat pork because it comes from pigs (there were no pigs when the rules defining Kosher food were invented) but because pigs are not ruminant and eat everything (Including humans BTW). Also not just any animal can be eaten as it should be killed in a very specific, quick and painless way and have their blood drained out before consumption (because blood is not healthy

)
What you described there is using those beliefs to manipulate people which is not accepted by me because this again includes forcing religion on others. Besides who do you call in the desperate of times ?

in the desparate of times i call to my friends
i call to my mind and i call to the fact i have to learn deal with it
[and believe me i know of some desparate times]
yes some rules have a clear reasoning
that is good
but the fact they force people to do it by saying they would go to hell if they didnt is wrong
the one religion i find reasonable is Buddhism because it isnt an real religion they dont believe in god
or they could but they dont have to
they only have rules that have a clear and good reason
all other believes are always used to manipulate
Buddhism has no right or wrong
but other religions have
and people who know this religion always had a superior position over others
but at the same time saying everyone is equel
the fact is not everyone is equel
and people have to deal with it
the rest people have to use their mind and reasoning to find these rules

Religion is technically a way of life.
And Religion may be responsible for many bad things, but it is responsible for an equal number of advancements as well. Even if you don't agree with it, learn to respect it.

I like to think all modern religions can be likened to the mythologies of the old - both contain historical events with their deities interjected within to provide some layer of legitimacy, it's just that the guys that wrote the Torah, Bible, etc, were a lot more realistic in their depictions. Not having God going around boning ladies as a goose, for example.

As I said they are like all religions combined (including Buddhism) , world peace, unity, unity in religion knowledge, diff advancing of the mankind into like energetic stuff etc. Western culture was shaped by monotheistic religions, that's why Japanese commercials are weird O.o .

Traditional Buddhism is still very much based in the supernatural, up to and including beings on higher planes and the concept of heaven and hell. It is often treated as being somehow different from other religions but over the centuries it collected all the same trappings.
Japanese commercials are weird because the Japanese are completely, unabashedly, unhinged from reality.
(Btw, Shintoism is practiced by ~83% of the population, but it is not considered an admission of faith, sort of like Christmas. Japan is predominately non-religious.)

I understand you are not Christian but you don't have to be an jerkass about it.

Tell me Joykler. You said earlier that the rules of Buddhism are put into place for good reasons. So why dont you think there are any good reasons to obey these two rules? Is there ONE good thing about being drunk? Hell no! My uncle got his kids, my cousins, taken away from him because when his wife cheated on him they divorced and she used his drinking problem (which she had too) against him in court. They live in Montana now and I can only see them one week in a year. What about sex before marriage. Is there something good about this that I'm not seeing? For one thing your taking a risk because you want to feel pleasure. Thats just stupid. What if she got pregnant? Do you think abortion is okay joykler? Killing a baby that has a chance at living? The least sex before marriage will do is weaken your relationship with your future wife. Some of our religious leaders see these problems and they act. They put forth rules. I dont see why you cant respect other peoples religions as much as you respect Buddhism.
