That explanation works as well as any.
You're lucky to have winter. It was 40 degrees Celsius across the state today. Hottest weather in 150 years.

The weather here is quite bad , too. We had the precipitation records broken here, with our town getting the most water in the country, Jerusalem and upper Galil saw snow (Yep , snow in Israel) ... We are not as dry as you might think and only slightly dryer than Europe, problem is that you get your water during the whole year while we get it all in three weeks or so ... so yep we're flooded
BTW I thought you get more than 40 deg there ...

No. It does get to >40 degrees in parts of Australia, but usually only in the center. People seem to forget that Australia's the same size as the US. For it to be above 40 degrees state wide is like it being 40 degrees across half of Europe. Bush-fires are everywhere, many homes have been destroyed and lives lost.

Yes. Dry, hot weather with large (dry) winds are the best conditions for fires to light and spread. All it takes is some idiot with a lighter, or a pile of decomposing plant matter and BANG! the whole thing goes up in smoke.
40 degrees Celsius is 104 degrees Fahrenheit. And in some areas, it's over 45 degrees.

No, it's dry (luckily). It rarely gets above 30 here, and is usually around 25-30 in the summer.

Couse he lives in Australia maybe ? We get an average of 25-28 here too, when the winds from the Saudi desert reach us though it turns 34 and damn dusty, the worst thing is that it doesn't effect humidity so you may even get rain with that dust, turning everything into a dirty muddy thing. I live in the North so we get colder weather, in other parts of the country 34 is average ...
Great we just got hail

, glad I don't need to go outside anymore for today, and they told the weather will improve ...
BTW as this has nothing to do with LJS's ships I moved it to members' lounge.
