I assume you guys have heard of the new 'Space' game Notch is currently developing. 0x10c is about when the players enter cyro sleep and emerge billions of years later in a galaxy reaching it's lifespan. The gameplay will centre around your customizable ships which can be controlled using an on board computer you get to program yourself. I don't know much about the computers, but information can be found on the website: http://0x10c.com/
I also believe that it will require a monthly subscription to play but this is't so clear at this stage.
What are your opinions on this new game?

Yea we brought this up quite a bit (actually twice as I remember). And yea ppl are not impressed. Besides speculations about the fact notch might not get as much success as he got with minecraft we also came to the conclusion futurecraft is far more advanced because it allows to manually construct (and destroy) ships and stuff.
They're watching ...

Re: 0x10c
Yea, very true. But 0x10c will be finished well and truly before the first release of Futurecraft.

Aww. Then people will be like "Oh lol these n00bs tried to do what notch did, except in minecraft."Talon93 wrote:Yea, very true. But 0x10c will be finished well and truly before the first release of Futurecraft.

Re: 0x10c
Notch just casually broke into all our houses and gathered as much data of FC as possible to recreate it.

Re: 0x10c
The one thing that puts me off is a monthly subscription.
It doesn't look too good,I will not pay over and over for that, not when I can (hopefully) play futurecraft instead.
Only problem is, futurecraft could potentially overshadow 0x10c, which mojang would not like, which could be bad, they might continually release updates to screw up our development. But people would just not update

Bah, Mojang are so useless and passive that they wont even notice Futurecrafts existence. They barely recognise the community of Minecraft and 0x10c as it is.Prototype wrote:The one thing that puts me off is a monthly subscription.

But not if people stop buying their game and play a free mod instead, then there will be money involved, that's when mojang is likely to show its dark side, and that's what I'm afraid of.Talon93 wrote:Bah, Mojang are so useless and passive that they wont even notice Futurecrafts existence. I just hope Mojang don't turn into sega, or apple,Iv121 wrote:Then don't be afraid as this will promote piracy and Mojang will loose more money anyway...

Re: 0x10c
It makes more sense to do this than to be at the mercy of 3rd party server donations. The other option is the freemium model, in which the game is free, but all gameplay is ruined by demanding real money to do anything fun.Prototype wrote:The one thing that puts me off is a monthly subscription.
Server maintenance isn't cheap, and you won't be able to cover it forever with one-time purchases.
Also Mojang approves of the modding community and wouldn't be jealous of our mod.
