You could probably hide a ceramic knife or something underneath your clothes. Wouldn't set off the metal detectors.
And with enough planning and bribes, you could easily get anything past security.

Prob is not the gun, its the gunpowder, dogs are damn good at sniffing it out from a mile. Finally at least in our airport they dont check everyone anyway ... They look for ppl that look suspicious rather than for the stuff itself, figures its easier.

BTW theres also a covert operative with a gun on board , just throwing it there ...

Dunno about Israel, but I've never seen a security dog in a US airport. They send everyone and every bag through a scanner device, and pat you down if the device picks up an anomaly, which it does reasonably frequently. If you look like one of your ancestors was from the Middle East or the government just doesn't like you you'll be "randomly" selected for more intensive screening. If the government really doesn't like you, like it really doesn't like the person who made that documentary about Edward Snowden, you'll be detained every time you enter or leave the country with no reason given.

Militaristic police state*
Seriously, when do we get to call it the Democratic People's Republic of America?

IT depends. Generally its a civil liberties issue and slippery slope (yes slap me for that)--what's stopping the police state from banning EVERYTHING?

Checks and balances yo.

At this stage I am genuinely considering to vote orange - or at least I would if I was American.

Doesn't TSA have like, no standards for hiring?
Like I'm pretty certain I could pull up like twenty cases of TSA molesting on Google right now.
