SpaceX launch today suffered a failure and was destroyed by range control. No official word on what happened.
Unofficially, from the chatter and watching the video, it looks to me like the second stage engine, after fuel pressurization, suffered a valve failure or fuel line failure that started dumping oxidizer; thus the white cloud in the video. The explosion was the range control officer checking the thing would not make orbit then pressing his big red button.
That was... very Kerbal. Fortunately, nothing too critical onboard.

They're not even trying to make less shitty engines--the whole goal of the Falcon 9 program is to build completely reusable rockets, something that's never been done before. That's why they keep exploding.
