So the Yuuzhan Vong were gonna be in SW:TCW
From the Untold Clone Wars panel from Celebration. Lots of other stuff in there too, but that's kinda the big one. Note that that ship in the beam is a Venator.

Well, it hasn't happened yet, and they're not making SW:TCW anymore, so...Tell wrote:Were? Also, holy shit

Eehhhm. Sure, the YV worldships and larger capships were that huge, but otherwkse they scaled roughly the same as the intragalactic stuff. Doubt that's a 'scout' ship.
That aside, could've been neat. YV were certainly unique, as aliens go.

That's literally just a screenshot of the Clone Wars production stuff, so I'm pretty sure it is by definition what they say it is.Commander Error wrote:Eehhhm. Sorry, misread that as SW:TFA meaning The Force AwakensLast_Jedi_Standing wrote:Well, it hasn't happened yet, and they're not making SW:TCW anymore, so...Tell wrote:Were? Also, holy shit

Ooh. Yeah, that would do it. Sorry for the confusion--that must have been a letdown.Tell wrote:Sorry, misread that as SW:TFA meaning The Force AwakensLast_Jedi_Standing wrote:Well, it hasn't happened yet, and they're not making SW:TCW anymore, so...Tell wrote:Were? Also, holy shit

I don't think the YV would be a good idea for TFA, that's not something you want to jump into straight away.
But I am honestly expecting them to pop up in ep 8 or 9.

I'm not so certain.
Disney is a kid's brand. Star Wars is now a kid's brand. Yuuzhan Vong are definitely not a kid's brand.
And to be honest I myself am not really sure I'd want them captured. All in all it was a collaborative effort by top kek Star Wars authors to make the universe as grimdark as possible, and while it's interesting to read, I doubt the same can be said of viewing biological genocide. And it'd either be that or overgrown hairless Ewoks with daddy issues soooo

Re: So the Yuuzhan Vong were gonna be in SW:TCW
I don't expect any storyline from the EU to show up in episodes 7, 8, or 9, nor do I expect any EU characters to appear in any significant fashion--I think cameos by Mara Jade and Thrawn are probably on the table, as that'd be low-hanging fruit to gain a lot of goodwill from potentially skeptical older fans, but I don't think they or anyone else we know will play any significant role. I would strongly prefer that the Yuuzhan Vong specifically not show up there, because I can't imagine a way they could do them at all well with one movie. The Clone Wars episode wasn't going to be the Yuuzhan Vong War, but rather a single ship presumably traveling far ahead of the main fleet; that wouldn't fly as a feature film, but the entire war would need a trilogy of its own, and I can't see it getting that.
