You asked for suggestions. Tough shit if the way it's delivered offends you, I'm not trying to be persuasive here, just stating the facts.

Low budget builds are a waste of money. If you already know how to build a rig (which you do), there's no reason to spend 400$ on a crappy computer when you could save up and get one that can actually do things.

This guy does a great job explaining why.

If you genuinely don't want to run anything I have no idea why you're trying to make a build. Might as well just buy some stock HP desktop and take it apart if you just want to mess with things.

I'd suggest an nvidia graphics card, but that's mainly personal preference.

Hrm. You planning on getting 2 drives and a RAID array, perchance?

Yes, but would I have any problems having a AMD CPU and a nvidia graphics card?

Not sure, actually. I use an Intel CPU IIRC and a GTX 460.

lol why would you

you gotta realize next to nothing in this market is proprietary, everything is designed to work with everything if it's the right part. A zotac brand nvidia 660 is exactly the same as a sapphire amd 6850 if they're both PCIe; the only difference is the GPU chip on the silicon and what's in there.

you should talk to your brother more often about this kind of thing
