Don't tell anybody, but to this day I have a faint hope for Futurecraft, or something similar to it, to happen. Within my lifetime.

I agree with Iv here. The logic of his point on the numbering system makes sense when extended to non-consoles, too: The original Macs are definitely retro, but they used a Motorola 680x0 processor, which is still being made today (in SMT microcontroller form). Hell, even the MOS 6507 in the Atari 2600 is still being made.
