I can't change the background because my activation key no longer works, and the 'command prompt' is fscking useless. Shockingly, I don't really mind the Metro UI.
I give up. Linux, I'm sorry I ever doubted you.

Pirated Win8.1 with ClassicShell start menu best OS of my life. Sorry but it is so.

Windows 7 is slower and lacks several features that Win8.1 has, like for example the ability to mount .iso files without any 3rd-party software. 8.1 is also more easily customised, in my experience.

Also has the worst default start menu layout ever. Plus optimization for tablets and phones doesn't translate well into computers. Will await Win9 (10) and hope they do it rite.

ClassicShell makes it have the Windows 7 UI/start menu. That's why it's our greatest ally.

You know what? I'm not a plebeian, I just don't fucking mind the lack of a start menu. I can just hit Ctrl-C (note: I still have to adjust to this, since this closes a program in Linux), up arrow key twice, enter, and I can search for any program I need - the search was all I ever used the Start menu for, anyway. Most of what I do revolves around the browser and the terminal, regardless, so I don't even use the search much.
EDIT: ClassicShell is news to me, somehow. Will investigate.

Status report v.2: I've had to reboot 5 times in 2 days. My average Linux uptime was ~2 months.

Only plebians get defensive over their OS of choice.

With classic shell you can just forget about the start menu and stuff.
Also I hear Win10 is optimized for XBox or something.
