No one cares about china and their week long party at the beginning of the year.

I'm sort of half-jealous of the jews. Instead of just one day (plus Christmas eve, which is also pretty well-celebrated), they get just over a week of celebratory guff. Think about it - almost 1/46 of a year. Crazy.

Don't be silly, Pretty much the entire month of December is Christmas if you play it right. Fuck people start putting up decorations right after thanks giving so it's like 2/3rds a month of Christmas + a week of pre-December Christmas then like a week of putting shit away and then New Years partying.
I guess people back in the colony days didn't really have much to do during the middle of winter after all the crops were done.

Well Tau in schools at your places you get almost all December + afterwards off, while we usually only get a week during that time. In mature life on the other hand Hanukkah holiday was precisely 1 day which caused me more trouble than comfort, that’s much less compared to what you get for Christmas ...

I saw a Christmas tree in a store on the last day of August this year. Don't even start on it being a one-day holiday. It's absurd.
