How legal would it be to, hypothetically speaking, secretly breed a few thousand chickens and release them in the middle of a city at midnight? Just asking out of curiosity, of course I would never do such a thing. Never. Nope. No way. At all.

Depending on where you're breeding them, generally you have to have a liscence (or at the very least land zoned for large-scale agriculture). Releasing them in a public place would probably be considered a disturbance of the peace, and you'd also be liable for whatever damage they caused.

Depending on how you keep them you may or may not be breaking animal cruelty laws several thousand times.

Proper chick breeding requires an incubator, a farm, and hella food for the chicks.
Also a good * is hard to come by I heard, let alone enough to breed 1k chicks.
Then you need a licence. Like, it's not like you can keep a farm that big secret anyway.
And cages are illegal.

...
Good luck.

The hardest part would be releasing em without anybody noticing you, Imagine moving a truck with 1000 chickens on board , releasing them and getting away without anybody remembering there was a giant clucking truck passing through the town ... BTW for driving that truck you ALSO need a lisence .

Yes, HAVE them. That's legal in most places.
The issue is breeding them.

Giving a chicken Ebola and releasing it into an African village would produce more tangible results.

I imagine if you hid incubators in telephone poles and transformers on them, you could rig it so that when ~50% eggs hatched, it would spring open, projecting newborn chicks in every direction.

See if you can buy a couple thousand chicks from a local farm, or several, instead of breeding them. Then put them all in a big box, drive it to the center of downtown in the middle of the day, and leave it there. Once midnight occurs, the timed locks you installed earlier opens the doors, and thousands of dead chicks are free to roam the city.
