Better idea; set up a trebuchet outside the city. Place chicks inside a box with a parachute on the box, then put box on trebuchet. Fire into city, parachute deploys, chicks get set free when doors open when landing.

Then burn the trebuchet and run.

Better idea: Teach the chickens to activate self destruct exploding thermite devices at a specific time of day. Boom. Infect with deadly diseases and release into city. When the time comes suddenly flaming thermite sludge coats the city lighting massive fires and any chicken that didn't get disintegrated in the bomb is thoroughly spread as infective chicken mist.

Thermite is hot enough to sterilize (and overcook) the corpses. Anything above ~150° is enough to wipe out any virus/bacteria in a corpse.
