Re: Steam sales
I shall try to convince my parents into allowing me to get ME 1 and 2.
I also got EYE: Divine Cybermancy for pocket change, essentially.

Yeah 60 kroner, many cheap. Like two or three sodas. Or two 250g chocolate bars.

I got the valve complete pack. Finally going to play half life, if this shitty laptop can even run it.

Re: Steam sales
Pretty sure Half-Life could run on a calculator.
Unless you're talking about Half-Life 2, that is probably going to require at least what they saw as super shitty in 2004.

Re: Steam sales
IIRC, HL1 runs on most Windows netbooks. Assuming you're not running a Chromebook, you're fine.

Re: Steam sales
Meh. Windows 8 is about on-par with Ubuntu, honestly. Except with Ubuntu, a moderately skilled user can easily reduce the load by disabling things they don't use. Also, it uses less disk space.
I'm probably only one of three or four people in this state who likes Windows 8 better than 7. Probably because it's easier to use keyboard shortcuts for everything. Ain't got shit on Gentoo, though.

Re: Steam sales
HL1 crashes on start for some reason, HL2 runs fine.
I just realized the strategy games I play are more resource intensive than left for dead 2.
