Finished Macross Zero recently.
Basically Macross without the singing bullshit and more epic fighter battles (VF-1 dogfights with modern animation). Pretty good actually.
Also finished Macross Frontier
Much singing bullshit and somewhat overblown space battles. Watchable but not much else.
Slightly wish they'd drop the "pop music will save us all" for this, the action, when it's there, is pretty damn good, and the plots would have made more sense if they didn't crowbar so many annoying subplots in. Hopefully the next one will be better, but seeing as they are focusing on the soundtrack I highly don't it.
