Post your Game Ideas

Watching some stuff, I had a thought. It was along the lines if "games".

So. Post your ideas and thoughts here- no need to get fancy, just the basic idea and or story for a game.

Personally, I've always thought a Steampunk and Skyrim MMO crossover would be nice. The open worldiness and such of Skyrim, with the sheer awesome and gratiuous brass of Steampunk.

So you go through training, to give you the basics, then select a country, (or just be the internatioanl Person). After that, you make your character, and then you're allowed to customize skills and such, then the fun starts.

After all the stuff, you arrive at the Eldritch Portal. Going through, you join the international expedition on the other side. You are in a new world, where you can explore, fight, guild, trade, or whatnot. You can make airships (for tons of moneh), build weapons (with 20% more Steam) and other fun stuff.

You can even kill people. Just beware the scary-leet city guard NPCs, who will oneshot you if you try anything inside the cities. Because we need safe zones.

Also, because the place IS eldritch, there are occasional monsters, crawly things and even rumours of twisted, corrupted humans from the Edge...

Halo RPG could be neat, but Reach, Traviss, and H4 just killed the entire franchise and raped its dead, decaying corpse.

Battletech MMO RPG would be KILLERBAWSs if it was done right.

I've had some ideas for a game about what I've come to call "My Hexagon Ship Universe", named after the sparking idea: a ship that it designed around a hexagonal cylinder... thing (See below). The hardness of the sci-fi is similar to a 12x2 LEGO plate (I have metaphorical tonnes of them), at first it seems like you could bend it forever until it snaps like the main body of a candy cane. You can learn more about it at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nex ... sp=sharing
Spoiler:

Anyways, it'd be an RPG. The galaxy would be procedurally generated, omitting lore-centric locations for very good reason, with your only limitation on exploration being your craft. The customization possibilities are astounding, starting off you could choose your factional alignment from the quite large, intimidating list of groups (Mock-up below). After picking your group (lone wolfing it is also an option, but with significant early-game disadvantages. You can always leave your faction, making going solo would be adding another difficulty modifier), you could then choose which of their space stations or space ports to start in. Listed at each location would be a little information bit like Mass Effect.

Afterwards, you'd be brought to the character customization. You'd build your story a la Mass Effect, then modify your person as if it were The Sims (3) with some options being conditional to your location and faction (mostly aesthetic). You'd be dropped into FPS mode (can change to thirdperson at will) and would receive your starter missions that serve as a tutorial to both the game and introduction to the system as you'll be tethered there until you can get a ship capable of using the Warp Pillar(s). Flying a smallcraft (shuttles, fighters, etc) would be similar to Entropy although the HUD and controls can be changed at will.

That's all I've thought out so far as I don't do much with the Hex Sci Fi Universe very often

All I want is the infantry combat of Planetside 2, the vehicle combat of Halo, the starfighter combat of Star Wars Battlefront, the capital ship combat of Sins of a Solar Empire, the powers of Mass Effect, the building of Minecraft, the designing of Spore, and the trading of X.

Let's see, it's been a while since I've played the game and read the books, but it was a major disappointment, mainly because it missed a huge opportunity to go along with the plot and story of Fall of Reach. Even though they followed a completely diferent story, Bungie still messed it up enough that they had to retcon some of it. It really doesn't make any sense for the characters to be there in the first place, a Covenant supercarrier was just hanging around in Reach's orbit undetected for the entire thing, if felt like a way to creatively kill a few Spartans, Cortana shouldn't have even been on reach at the time, at one point the Autumn landed on Reach (I think when it didn't have the ability to make a touch-an-go like that (it was also in combat through most of the Battle of Reach anyway), the classes of Spartan IIIs from which the characters had come had been entirely eradicated (Ghosts of Onyx pretty much sets that one in stone), all of the S-IIs were on the Autumn prior to the Battle of Reach (omit Grey Team and the MIAs)... One minor thing that I really hated was the damn multicolored armor. It doesn't make sense at all.

And H4 was just awful. I hate 343 so much for that. They destroyed the Didact's character and took all of the mystery away from the Forerunners. Blargyebajsdn;a

Halo 4 would have been better as Call of Duty: 2557, and Reach could have really really really really really really been better if [insert what Cats said]. But they didn't, which makes me want to murder.

Vinyl, i'd like to direct your attention to Limit Theory. Basically has what you described, but still in development (but looking good so far!) I'd keep an eye on it. Just throwing it out there.

But truly, all the games I could think of that I want already exist. If anything, I want a VR game like Reverie set in space with ships and stuff, but that's not happening.

I'd nearly forgotten about Limit Theory! I used to follow it quite closely for a while, but then it just sort of fell of my DRADIS.

Well apart from a megaman game covering the elf wars...

I'm not sure, I'll try and think of something.

i would like a game like skyrim where you actually 'forge' your weapons, giving them custom shapes, and based on the shape, selected class, and material(density, hardness, ductillity, malleability, etc). as well as realisticish dismemberment and evicerations. + dragons and magic.

A probably unrealistic idea I've had for a while now:
An open-world FPS game set on some island, with jungles, deserts, smaller islands, stuff like that. You're a merc or something sent to the island to do something, idk haven't thought much about the story yet.
You would create a character, just like in Skyrim, choosing gender, looks, perhaps skills and starting gear too. All human enemies and most other NPCs will be created randomly in the same way, though some would of course be pre-designed.
There would be a large variety of vehicles, both cars, boats, planes, choppers and maybe even submarines. How well you can drive these, if at all, depends on your skills, so you can't just jump into the first fighter jet you find, unless your character starts as a trained pilot, or you find someone to train you.

It would also differ from other FPS games in several ways. In most games, enemies are often not-really-human entities, who just exist for you to kill them. An example of this is Far Cry 3, with its identical pirates who just talk about how hot the island is and how bad goat tastes. In this game, however, enemies would be more human; they'd talk to their friends about their lives, they'd grow more suspicious, aware and/or frightened as you kill their friends and comrades, and maybe beg for mercy if you forced them into a corner and shot away their weapon.

Another thing that is typical for FPS games is that you can carry around an RPG, a machine gun and a flamethrower, as well as a thousand rounds of ammo. In this game, you'd equip weapons and ammo to different parts of your body. Sure, you can carry around 4 assault rifles and a couple pistols if you want, but you won't have much place for ammo. Or you can carry enough ammo and grenades to supply an entire army, but you'd only have room for a small pistol or something to actually fire all those bullets.
NPCs in towns and stuff would react to how much guns and ammo you've equipped. If you come walking with two LMGs on your back and your chest full of grenades and C4, they'd move to the other side of the street. However if you don't show any weapons at all, you'd maybe get assaulted by a gang or something.

NPCs would also react on your clothes, which would get more and more dirty and/or bloody as you do things and kill people. If you come there with your weapons and a bloody, torn-up shirt you might not even be allowed into the city, but if you come there with clean, casual clothes, no one would worry at all. Unless you point a gun at their face or something, of course.
There'd also be different kinds of clothes, giving you more protection and/or movability. Tough, thick jeans and a heavy jacked with a bulletproof vest underneath would keep you pretty safe, but slow you down a little and making you less agile, while thin pants and a sweatshirt wouldn't protect you at all, but you'd move as free as someone who moves freely. A suit would make you look great, but it'd give little protection and restrict your movement a lot.

I'm working on some ideas for gun customization as well.

Another game that would be cool would be an open-world game with fully customizable mechs and weapons, and maybe hoverbikes and fighters.

How about a game kinda like legos, only it has a day/night cycle, and at night monsters like zombies and stuff come out. To survive, you have to build shelter and not die.

Or, Spore 2.0.

Or, one where you are teh messenger, and you must deliver teh messages. To do so, you have to follow paths from fantasy city to fantasy city. You are also doing quests along the way, like dungeon diving and murder. At the end, you realize that you're some backwater world and aliens just landed and gave you guys the FTL drive. Sets up for space sequel.

Sounds like a stupid game. Probably wouldn't get much attention.

A Sonic-themed RTS. That genre would have so much potential.
Heck, you even have GUN and Eggman robots that basically are the equivalent of each other in all matters.
You wouldn't even have to make up new units, just reuse the old dreamcast-era stuff.
It would also make it possible for one to actually PLAY the Eggman Empire. Or the United Federation.
And stuff. I'm sonic-nerding out, aren't I?
