Israeli assault on Gaza

Just realized that if Israel's forces are busy fighting Ghaza then how are they going to defend their eastern border from ISIS? They'll undoubtedly take advantage of it.

It's believed that ISIS currently has something like 10,000 soldiers available. The Israel Defense Force has more that 175,000 active members, 445,000 reserve members, and 3,000,000 (3 million) trained people available for military service. I really don't think that's going to be a problem.

Well Im glad we DONT have the ISIS on our borders right now, but what you say there is a misunderstanding of the middle-east. Its true the ISIS hates Israel as a Sunni organization and promises to annihilate the dirty Zionists and stuff, but what Sunnis hate more than Jews is Shias, in fact both streams of Islam hate each other so much that the Hizballah (a shia organization, resides in Lebanon to the Israeli North) instead of pushing its usual agenda and attacking Israel is sending all it can into Syria to fight Daash (did you know thats ISIS in arabic ? ). Yup, both sides are more interested in each other and less in Israel right now. On a side note ISIS is still far off the Israeli borders and its unable to really fight us, as I said the threat of Hizballah was more serious but they are also occupied, leaving us free to focus on Gaza.

Well the caliphs still exist in a way, just its a q of who claims to hold the true Muhamad's Caliph (Deputy in arabic) title, who takes control of the muslim world. It isn't just a thing of the present either, the control of the first Caliphate, then the creation of separate Sunni and Shia empires, the Turks and the Persians, and nowadays they still fight for control, its not a conflict over a mere seat at the first caliphate, its a much deeper hatred that resulted from more than a thousand years of war.

IIRC ISIS's leader's already declared himself Something Something Caliph Something Ibrahim.

11 13 days ago the situe in Gaza wasn't too good for the Hamas. Since the return of the military to power in egypt they stopped transferring money from Qatar which meant the Hamas had nothing to pay his terrorists with. The disapproval rates of the Hamas were skyrocketing and the popularity of other parties rose. Basically the Hamas uses this war to take the pressure off himself and remain in power, they are just like all other dictatorships, willing to sacrifice as many people as it takes just to remain in power.
