1) I do not want to be admin. I cannot stress that enough. If I could resign my current mod position I would, because being an anonymous, normal user means I can do whatever I want without reflecting badly on the staff.

2) The ACP is not as easy to pick up as you believe. If an intelligent character like LJS couldn't figure it out in 2 months, I doubt anyone present could.

3) Even if I did want the post, I fail to see how Lightspeed would be an improvement. If it were up between a grumpy jerk who knows his way around the control panel and someone who is incapable of spelling properly on a daily basis, I'd pick the former if no other options presented themselves. Truth be told Shiva's leaving left quite a big power vacuum that I was hoping LJS would fill, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I would be willing to look into the ACP, and I could probably learn it, however, I'm not too sure whether or not I would be any good at the admin side.

I've been operating under that assumption since I got the job, and it hasn't turned out to be the case. The basic stuff is pretty simple, anybody could figure out promoting members and stuff like that, but when it comes to something even a bit more complicated, like trying to figure out why Global Moderators can't view reports, and I have no idea what's going on. I would be surprised if you don't have the same experience.

I will not. Without you, there is only myself and Dr. Mackeroth with administrator powers, and as the latter isn't all that active lately, that is effectively just me. I don't want to be the only one with the ability to solve forum level problems when they arise. If you don't want to use your admin powers, then don't use them, but you are going to hold on to them until you can find someone to take your place.

You're already functionally the only one who can. That's why I'm trying to resign. I see where you're coming from, though. I guess now we have to decide how Admins are chosen. The main criteria has to be that they know how to use the ACP.

As I told Tau, all I can really do is mess with the database and keep the site up, look into errors related to the host, stuff like that. Everything else is handled in the board's cache files, which are inaccessible to anyone without the proper permissions on the forum.

So no, I'm not an admin in any shape or form. More of a glorified janitor :P
