They won't get deleted. I promise.
Re: Star Wars LEGOs
Today I got the Rancor Pit, the BARC Speeder with Sidecar, all three of the new Buildable Galaxy sets, and the mini-model Republic Frigate that you got for ordering from LEGO.com. I've only built the frigate and two of the Galaxy ones so far, but I also assembled the Rancor figure, and O_O. That thing is huge, and scary-looking. It has articulated fingers. It's awesome.
In other news, they're releasing a UCS X-wing for Star Wars day. Also, they're going to be pulling the Jabba's Palace sets from stores, most likely because LEGO has been getting complaints that they based the model off the Hagia Sophia. They deny that that is the reason, but I had to share that because it's hilarious that anyone not only has so much time on their hands that they want to accuse LEGO of anything but also that people think it looks like the Hagia Sophia. Lol. Yes, it has a dome. Thank you. Rather more importantly, so does Jabba's Palace.

Because of Muslims, at that.
Maybe LEGO's scared they'll bomb their production facility

Re: Star Wars LEGOs
Minifigures included with the HH-87 Skyhopper set will be Cad Bane, a Nikto Guard, and Obi-Wan Disguised as Rako Hardeen. <sigh> Cad Bane again? And some stupid guard. This thing is supposed to be a Zygerrian ship, but we aren't getting any Zygerrians or even Moralo Eval. Still no word on the Jedi Cruiser set. Also, I just looked at the pictures for the Republic Gunship set again, and the speeder bike it carries is Owen Lars's swoop bike, not a GAR issue speeder. That's pretty disappointing, and a major step backwards given that the 2008 version's speeder bike was pretty perfectly accurate.

Re: Star Wars LEGOs
...so appearently LEGO fails at being canonially accurate again?
*sigh* don´t they have enough problems with naming things incorrectly? (remember them calling those sonic cannons "Genosian Ion Cannon"?)

Yeah, and the Striker-class starfighter. LEGO usually does a pretty good job, but occasionally they do weird stuff. They seem to go back and forth on speeder bikes in particular. There are at least three substantially different versions of BARC speeders around, and lots of other models. I think this is the first time they've used something that's pretty clearly completely the wrong vehicle, though.

Re: Star Wars LEGOs
Well, If I were Lucasfilms (or Disney that is now) I´d tell them to do better research on stuff.
I heard they also are now making the... what? something among 5th to 10th version of an original sci-fi approach?
...yeah, totally original (hte most original thing ever was that Exo-Force manga-thing with the mechs, but only if you don´t know that gundam and that stuff come from Japan, the homeland of Manga)

The most original thing they've done was Bionicle, which was really pretty awesome. A lot of people were very sad to see it go, although by the end it was really struggling. They ran out of good ideas at some point in there. I think that's the only one of their original creations that's ever been particularly successful. They've done a lot of space stuff (the last Space Police line was Space Police #3). I liked their Mars Mission stuff, and their Alien Conquest (or whatever) introduced a couple of new pieces that have since been used in Star Wars sets, so that was cool. The Castle sets are the same way—they've had maybe a dozen fairly similar medieval-themed lines over the past few decades. I haven't heard about them making a new science fiction one, but I don't think they've got one running right now so it doesn't surprise me. They try to have City stuff, Castle stuff, and science fiction stuff always around, with random stuff to fill in the cracks.

Re: Star Wars LEGOs
They now have something they call "Galaxy Squad" which is appearently just some Space Polics/Mars Mission ripoff.
I still liked ExoForce most. but that was propably because I didn´t know of japanese mech culture at that point.
...they even went so far as to delete all traces of ExoForce ever having existed.
Well, not all traces, but there´s just nothing left...

Yeah, they sent Mata Nui into a parralel universe where there were gladiator battles and then it was over.

This is old news. They killed Bionicle more than a year ago, IIRC. It was replaced by Hero Factory, which looks the same but is different, but I think that's gone now too.Prototype wrote:Wait? They stopped Bionicle?

And yeah, even before they went to the gladiator planet they had the, like, speeder-air-thing world, and before that was the water world (Mahri Nui?). It hadn't been good since Metro Nui, however long ago that was, and it hadn't been acceptable since Voya Nui. Does anyone else here remember the Voya Nui game they had on LEGO.com? It was one of the best ones they ever had on there. I think I got a hacked version or something after it was taken off their website, but it's been a long time.

Re: Star Wars LEGOs
Nah,i just liked the idea. Is like a LEGO thundercats. But i prefer Mind Storm and the other with realistic themes...the one that is a space shuttle. I buyed my first lego a month ago. Its a "Build and Rebuild" LEGO type.
