I can stop being Catholic as much as you can stop believing in your own existence. It's something that we are both concretely, absolutely, logically, sure of.

Also, a great thank you for one major thing you are doing better than most other religious people:
You accept people who don't believe in the same things as you and don't continue pressuring them to join your religion after it has become evident they are not interested.
You let people who disobey the rules of your religion because they do not believe in it do so without making a major issue out of it.
Generally, you are unbiased against non-religious people. And that is propably one of your best personality traits.
No matter how controversial your opinions on anything are in other people's eyes, you still let others have their opinion.
Thank you for not being as much of a * as essentially all the other strict catholics I have heard of.

No. I have told CMA my honest opinion.
From what I have encountered in terms of strict catholics on the internet, they were all being rude *.
CMA is a strict catholic on the internet and a non-harmful troll.
He may be hard to get used to, and he does say catholic stuff form time to time, but hey, I'm in multiple fandoms, which is basically nothing compared to an actual genuine religious belief and even I have had to put some effort into putting down using MLP and Doctor Who pics as a reaction every three pages of discussion.
Once you get used to him, he's fine. I honestly would not fancy being around him IRL, but on FC I don't have a major issue with him.
Which by itself is a pretty great achievement considering how other catholics are like on the webz.

Nah. CMA, you're the specialist. Is there any source inside the bible that actually states that it's hot in hell, cuz AFAIK that's just a thing Dante came up with, but I wanna ask an expert first.

It's actually kind of gone(the homosexual thing). Also, no, AFAIK hell is just a void or something, in Revelations in mentions the second death and a pit of sulphur etc. etc. but that's steeped in Jewish allegory so I have no idea what the fuck it's supposed to say.

Some interpreters believe that you are already pretty much familiar with hell - this very place, yeah you are all sinister souls which didn’t enter heaven, once you die your life here is evaluated and if you pass the exam you go to heaven, else you are back for another round in hell, so what do you know , Jews believe in incarnation ! That is a theory ofc, there is no description given of what this place called "hell" is, however in Jewish tradition hell is basically more of temporary stopping station for the soul rather than your new permanent address, your soul spends some time there and then it moves on towards an unknown destination, they somehow came to a conclusion that your soul spends around 12 months specifically in hell.

The origin of the word "hell" as presented in the bible "Geyhenom" comes from a name of a place "Guy-ha-nam" the valley of nam, located to the west of Jerusalem. In that place the Yebusians, the ppl that lived in Yebus or Jerusalem as you know it today, sacrificed their children to their local gods by burning them to ashes, hence the association between it and hell. You would be surprised how little is written about hell for all the significance it bears within the monotheistic religions. In fact the word "hell" doesn't appear even once in the bible, its not that surprising however that no description of it was given. In general the bible avoids descriptions, anything written in it is of the outmost relevance to the discussed subject and not a single word is redundant. Apparently the description of hell was not relevant to the text whatsoever hence there is no such description given in the bible.
