Also, isn't it possible to call Homestuck a book?

It's a piece of fiction, but no. And it's not sci fi, either.

Homestuck rustles my jimmies. And not in the good way.

Yea, its a fantasy that takes known fantasy concepts and twists them around (And you can be sure you won't run out of books for it, there is quite an extensive collection). It is one of those kinds of things I like - its not a story that’s set in a universe but rather a universe set in a story, a collection of tales from a world with it's own history, culture and rules.

You might like G.K. Chesterton then, the man behind such gems as:

"Anything worth doing is worth doing badly"

"Women are like sticks"

and

The practical form it takes is this: that, while the old man may stand by some stupid custom, the young man always attacks it with some theory that turns out to be equally stupid.”

He didn't write speculative fiction though, just mystery and essays. He was also a journalist IIRC.

AH HA HA HA HA no. They have nothing whatsoever in common except that they both end with '-world'. Ringworld is one of my favorite books, though; anyone who hasn't read that should. Most of the books set in that universe except Ringworld itself are crap, but the original is very much not. Discworld is also very good but not science fiction.

I'll see if I can get them then, my reading options are sort of limited to whatever I can pull off of Gutenberg and the occasional trip to the library though.

AFAIK you could torrent the ebooks (provided you posess the eyepatch of power) but I'd reccomend finding them at a bookstore or something.

Morally opposed to that unless the author gives permission(has actually happened to me, but it was with music and a very weird case). I can probably find it at the library,

Unfortunately, however, I think Pratchett himself is too ill to continue the series (Alzheimer's), but he still managed 30+ books, plus all his other material. He occasionally gets accused of literature.

Errr. The most recent one only came out a couple of months ago. Wikipedia says he has to dictate them now rather than write them himself, but I see no indication that he's not going to be writing any more.

As always, I do not condone piracy of any kind and I rather wish we wouldn't discuss it here. In fact, that's Rule #5. So, yeah, uh, Error....

They're all readily available totally legitimately from Amazon, so I don't know why you'd want to go to the UK for that. Looks like they're on sale right now, too.
