A ship like that represents a very large number of people working towards it for a long time, not one guy. I guess it's possible to be that rich, but my understanding is that this ship was owned by a guild, not a person per se.

I thought he was the one who kept saying "You fucking asshole". I think he might have been in shock.

EVE is the game where you lead the life of a sci fi corporate hopeful with no shortcuts (user friendliness is for pansies), slowly work your way up by grinding years at a time to get a nice ship, then lose it all in a gank.

It's kinda like a more excruciating version of Minecraft multiplayer, now that I think of it.

For all that it's a space game set far in the future in a different galaxy, EVE is probably closer to real life than any other game I know of. And keep in mind that this is not a normal scenario. It's so abnormal that there have been multiple news articles about it. But, just like in real life, @#$% has the potential for happening.

Well, like I said, "what is a warship if not for battle?". In MC the point of making all the enchanted wargear is to take it to the enemy and make them suffer, or at least try to. Leaving it in a chest would kinda defeat the point. Likewise with the carrier - its sole purpose is for war, that it gets destroyed at some point should come as a surprise to nobody, really. It's all about risk/reward, though gotta say I feel for the guy who lost it, has to suck losing all that effort in one blaze of fail glory.

I dunno. Obviously they'd managed to get this far without losing any of them. It would be like if one of the US's ginormous nuclear aircraft carriers got blown up. Obviously that's a risk, because it's a warship and all that, but it's not something that happens even every couple of decades.

Plus you always view just the cases of all-in , could he actually escape from there ? You know, better live to fight another day especially with that thing, that is what I'll do in such case.

It was an ambush. Their Supreme Commander guy was a spy for another faction, and he led their whole fleet into a giant trap.

That's actually pretty cool for a game that's by and large described as a 'second job one has to pay for'.
