It would be appreciated if we didn't turn this into a Vinyl Quotes/Responses thread.

Re: So who is...
Everything is utterly asinine.
We are living in a society that will not trundle on for much further. I find it difficult to provide details that led me to this conclusion, but just look around you. Even our most potent energy sources, nuclear fission and fusion, rely on irrefutably finite materials. Our governments are in various states of decay and most host unacceptable levels of corruption.
I, personally, have cancelled my plans to join the National Guard. In light of my newfound knowledge it is a furtive endeavor. This world needs reform. Some people like to believe in deities, and while I will not throw their beliefs out of the window, no god has done anything for the state of humanity in the past millennium. We have to undergo this change ourselves.

And it would be for nothing. At this point I realize I have very little to live for, just one of a few billion humans on the planet. I would gladly sacrifice my life if it meant continuing peace and prosperity, and I'm sure you'd do the same given your time spent with the IDF.Iv121 wrote:Well while you certainly can sit at home and think of high matters someone needs to keep order on the streets, or on the borders or whatever thing troubles
But it wouldn't. And it won't until humanity gets its fucking act together. We should be innovating and reaching for the stars rather than squabbling over trivialities. (BTW, that post you responded to, I cut parts of it out and put them in That Political Thread)

Re: So who is...
You know I mean more practical, if someone robs a bank you need cops to stop em

Re: So who is...
Look, serving a system that's flawed isn't exactly serving the greater good.
Cops are assholes anyway. As for banks,
Not quite as dramatic as what they're making it out to be, but some of what they bring to light is true.

I've seen it, part is true part is crap, average stuff you get to see every day overall
. It doesn't matter what system man there are essentials to take care of. You can't let people do what they want or you can kiss your beautiful political dreams goodbye.

I realize that. What are you trying to say here, anyway? That we should live in a communist society, or what? I find it very hard to make a response when I can't discern your intent.Iv121 wrote:I've seen it, part is true part is crap, average stuff you get to see every day overall. Neither, I do not care what's above me (well I do but not in this case) but I do care about saving someone else. Who knows maybe I am even with the left (left and right here describe how far you are willing to go for "peace" here) and I am against war and stuff, that doesn't rid me of the responsibility to protect lives and most of the left parties agree with it (besides the radicals and Arabs OFC )

It's a question of do the ends justify the means. I think that no amount of bloodshed created by the systematic assimilation of countries into one cohesive alliance would negate the benefits generations following the event would enjoy as a result.Iv121 wrote:Neither, I do not care what's above me (well I do but not in this case) but I do care about saving someone else. At the rate we're going humanity will die out long before the Sun goes nova.
At this point in time I see supporting the current system as being part of the problem rather than the solution. At present, all that represents is a dedication to upholding the interests of the corporations and groups that hold sway over governments everywhere. No, not going conspiracy theorist on you, but that they play a major role in politics is all but undeniable. And if that's above you, even charities these days are more interested in taking profit from donations rather than using them for their intended use.
I'm of the opinion we need to reformat the hard drive.

Re: So who is...
I don't think corporations rule over governments man, you take conspiracy theories too far too strong ... I'm actually more interested to know how you plan to contribute humanity rather than what's better for it.

I never said they rule over governments. I said they have considerable sway over some of the individuals that compose them.Iv121 wrote:I don't think corporations rule over governments man, you take conspiracy theories too far too strong ... I don't have a plan. Like I said, I'm just suggesting things because I'm utterly tick at what society has become. Not to the point of calling everyone sheeple, but enough to feel the desire to draw up the 'ideal' government. It's always best to have an alternative when criticizing.
