In this case an edit would serve no purpose. Notice that the posts are days or weeks apart. This was almost at the bottom of the page; no-one would ever see my edits.

The more I think about the "Special Forces Clone Trooper" the more annoyed I get. I'm not certain why they're even marketing that set as a Star Wars product, as in fact it does not contain a single item that appears in any Star Wars canon.

LEGO: We need a cool new clone trooper for this set we're making. Any ideas?
Employee #1: Let's make clone commandos. Those are awesome, and we haven't made any before.
Employee #2: Nah, let's make a new ARC trooper! We've made a couple in the past, but there are lots of variants still to be covered.
Employee #3: I'd rather we went into newer territory here. We've already got a few ARCs. Let's make a clone assassin instead--that's completely unlike any of our others, and it fits the set better.
Employee #4: What about covert operations troopers? Those are cool.
Employee #5: Ooh, and stealth clone troopers! There are so many great clones we haven't made.
Employee #6: No, I've got a better idea! Let's just make stuff up. I've got this picture my five-year-old son drew. He's never seen a clone trooper, so instead he colored a stormtrooper blue and gave him a shield.
LEGO: That's great, #6! Let's do it!

Probably one of the rare cases in which I agree with you. This thing is an abomination.

And the saddest part of all is that technically it's a clone trooper, so I am honor-bound to purchase one. :/

Brickipedia now has pictures of all the sets. Not much to say really. The Republic Gunship is coming with a clone captain, which is very nice, but their redesign of the clone pilot still doesn't have the correct helmet, which is not. It is Stass Allie, not Adi Gallia. The Mandalorian Speeder seems to be a non-canon vehicle, which is a yet another major facepalm, but Darth Maul with Robotic Legs looks nice, so it's OK. Poggle the Lesser is good; his head is a new mold. All the Episode 2 figures are redesigns, actually. Yoda's head is a new mold too, and it looks like Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padme have new hair pieces. Several of the clone troopers have pieces stuck on the ends of their blaster rifles to make them look a little bit more like DC-15s, so although there still isn't a good picture of the clone in the AT-TE set I was probably right about his gun looking strange.

The Umbaran Mobile Heavy Cannon is a nice set. There's more detail on the cannon than I'd realized, and it can carry both Umbarans. They're not very well done, but I will say that they're not as bad as they looked in the pictures. The 212th trooper is very nice, too. Lots of printing on that figure.

New picture of the Special Forces clone trooper:

He looks a bit better in that shot, but is still IMO one of the most disappointing minifigures LEGO has ever released.

Spoiler:

Jek-14's Stealth Starfighter appears to be an E-wing escort starfighter. I don't know why I didn't realize that before, but it pretty clearly is. I have no idea why LEGO would do that and not label it as such.

I got the Republic Assault Ship and the TIE Bomber mini-models today. They're both well done, and the Acclamator is almost exactly to scale with my older Venator, which is very nice. The TIE pilot also has new printing on his helmet, which I hadn't noticed on the package. I think the most interesting part is that the clone trooper's blaster rifle is a new mold. It's very similar to the old one, but features what appear to be attachment points similar to the ones on his helmet on the right side of the gun. I'll be very interested to see if we actually get attachments for blasters in the future. That would be pretty awesome. The ARC trooper gear for the helmets has always been one of my favorite features.

No. He just wants to break the chain of posts. It'll probably get deleted later, like the previous ones.
