I want to do airsoft. Wat do?

Good starter gun is glorious Soviet Mosin-Nagant. They can run from anywhere between 50-200 USD(making the assumption you are in US). Some may require a little love and care, but will run very well with regular maintainence. When you fire the Mosin, you will feel it when the tiny Ivan inside it hits the 7.62 bullet's primer with the hammer of the proletariat. You will feel the joy of the glorious Russian Empire when you fix the 29-inch UN-banned bayonet(some of them have a bayonet which is shaped like a square with each corner as a blade, which is banned by the UN for being too difficult to stitch on the field). The gun will also seldom fail, and ammo is plentiful. Buy the Mosin, vote Soviet Bear.

Depends if you want green gas or CO2 (I prefer CO2). Most non blow-back semiautomatic will all have about the same performance, blowback is more fun but ultimately pointless. There're automatic pistols too, which come in handy, then there's shit like this . You just have to look through them and find one you like. ShortyUSA has a good selection of handguns, both green gas and CO2.

I've got a friend who's into airsoft already, and he's given me some basic knowledge on how to differentiate between guns (different styles of combat, blowback vs. non-blowback, CO2, green gas, electric, spring, etc.), but I still feel a bit lost. My current plan is to buy a spring-powered sniper and an electric SMG.

So, how does this sound? Anyone got any suggestions?

@ACH funny, my local hardware store actually sells old Mosins and I think a couple of Kar98s, or similar. If/when I get my PAL I might get a Mosin just for the shiggles involved.

Kar is worst gun. It will break hard and fast internally, and ammo is fairly rare afaik.

.22 calliber weapons are good because ammo is inexpensive,and are very common to find.

You can go the slavshit route, which is always a good option, or you could go the Fudd route, which would be to buy hunting guns and actually hunt instead of just shooting things.

Reported to North Carolinar law watch agencies for homicidal desires. Seriously, you can go Fudd or not Fudd routes. One is shooting at aminals and the other is shooting for pleasure. Either way, airshit isn't worth the money, which is spent on a device which only serves recreational purposes, will break after a year at most, and you will sell/forget after a few years anyways. You could have a real gun which would be able to feed you if something Happens, will be reliable for years if you seal it in cosmoline/take minimal care of it, and you can just shove under a bed or in a drawer and faintly remember for years until someone burglarizes your house and you shoot them.
