I haven't checked in in a couple weeks, but has anyone seen this video yet, I thought it was awesome.
Star Wars Anime
Re: Star Wars Anime
Major, major props for the Immobilizer 418 cruiser in the background there. That's one of my favorite ships. My only complaint with it is that TIE bombers and Y-wings were both shown engaging in fighter vs. fighter combat, something neither one of them can do worth beans. They're both designed to hit capital ships. Overall, though, that was very well done. The canonical details are impressive.

I can't speak for the details, but as an outsider, I found this very entertaining and I hope there's more where this came from!Last_Jedi_Standing wrote:Major, major props for the Immobilizer 418 cruiser in the background there. Re: Star Wars Anime
Star Wars and anime seem like a perfect fit!
Re: Star Wars Anime
Well it won't be an anime. The fact it is cartoonish and maybe has similar aesthetics doesn't turn it into an anime for me. The plot in most anime has quite a lot in common and unless that cartoon shares the same stuff it remains a colourful animation for me. We can't just go around , point at cartoons with stuff with big eyes and call it anime (at least that's what I think) as I found that if we do that we will basically define most cartoons as anime. I need something more specific for this division to actually be meaningful, to have it as a genre with specific qualities.

Re: Star Wars Anime
"the term anime does not specify an animation's nation of origin or style; instead, it serves as a blanket term to refer to all forms of animation from around the world. English-language dictionaries define anime as "a Japanese style of motion-picture animation" or as "a style of animation developed in Japan."
Non-Japanese works that borrow stylization from anime are commonly referred to as "anime-influenced animation" but it is not unusual for a viewer who does not know the country of origin of such material to refer to it as simply "anime". Some works result from co-productions with non-Japanese companies, such as most of the traditionally animated Rankin/Bass works, the Cartoon Network and Production I.G series IGPX or Ōban Star-Racers; different viewers may or may not consider these anime."
Saw this a week ago, but it's really good. Especially love the KOTOR soundtrack, it goes perfectly with the animation.
